Salecycle, a company specialising in basket abandonment, has announced the opening of an office in Sydney.
The move is set to spark competition in the email remarketing space down under, which VeInteractive has had mostly to itself since the launch of its own Sydney office in April 2011.
Although, SaleCycle is not completely new to the country. Before the office opening, it worked with clothing line Lorna Jane, Chemist Warehouse and 40 other Australian online retailers, helping them to achieve average ROI of over 20:1.
A recent national Australian Bank Report suggests SaleCycle has picked a good time to get off the ground, with the country’s online retail spending increasing to $14.9 billion last year and domestic retailers controlling the largest share of online sales at 74%.
Previously predicting that trillions of dollars in abandoned sales will occur in 2014, SaleCycle has also been busy in its other regions where the company revealed it is about to embark on a hiring spree, bringing in 150 new staff.
