Online sales in 2014 are forecasted to reach $1.4 trillion dollars, but how many will be lost when consumers give up on the checkout process?
Email remarketing company, SaleCycle, has released a new infographic which shows abandoned online sales will amount to $3 trillion dollars at the end of 2014, which is more than double online sales for the same period.
SaleCycle’s research suggests that supermarket retailers have the most work to do on their websites if they are to eat into lost conversions. The food and drink sector had the highest abandonment rate with 76%.
Additionally, the food and drink vertical did not fare any better with the email communications being sent to consumers. Its 46% open rate and 15% conversion were the lowest of all the sectors displayed in SaleCycle’s findings.
