Simple Agency, a digital marketing business headquartered in Milan, has sold a majority stake in its business to multinational media firm, Aegis. The Italian company will now become part of the Aegis owners, Dentsu Group.

Marco Caradonna, Sandro Moretti and Umberto Bottesini will form the new management of Simple Agency, which will operate as a separate unit. All three will report directly to Aegis Media Italy chief executive officer (CEO), Giulio Malegori.

Simple Media’s current clients, such as Sky and Vodafone, are likely to benefit the most from Aegis’ interest in the agency, according to CEO and founder, Caradonna.

“Joining forces with Aegis Media opens up a world of new opportunity for the Simple Agency team and for all our clients and partners,” said Caradonna. “It is the perfect opportunity to take what we’ve built so far to the next level.”

Italian Market Sewn Up

Aegis Media believes it is now well equipped to provide a broad selection of the digital marketing services ecosystem in Italy, having already taken iProspect into Italy.

CEO Malegori said he is confident that his company has all but tied up the Italian market with this strategic investment in one of the country’s biggest performance marketing players.

“With this acquisition Aegis Media Italia is now one of the strongest digital players in the Italian market.,” revealed Malegori. “Simple Agency will reinforce Aegis Media’s offer, accelerating the development of new products and services, such as data and analytics, video advertising and mobile marketing.”

Well into its sixth year of operation, Simple Agency focuses on delivering digital media campaigns to clients using interactive advertising, performance marketing, search engine marketing, email marketing, mobile marketing, viral marketing and social media.
