Tech, creative and media provider SYZYGY Group has acquired a 51% stake in German digital performance marketing provider Catbird Seat GmbH.
This strategic move helps SYZYGY Group build up its expertise in performance marketing, SEO and analytics, and it places the company, together with SYZYGY Hamburg (formerly uniquedigital) – as one of Germany’s top three agencies in the performance marketing industry.
With the acquisition, the Group has also expanded its reach with Germany, now present in Munich, Berlin and Hamburg.
SYZYGY’s chairman of the management board, Lars Lehne, called Catbird Seat “one of the most prestigious names” in the industry, and one that will push the group’s current offering.
“With its multi-award-winning work and rapid growth, the agency is an excellent fit with our dynamic corporate culture and complements our portfolio exceptionally well as a link between media, technology and creative services,” said Lehne.
Catbird Seat’s co-founder and managing director, Dr Sepita Ansari, believes the collaboration was a “conscious choice” as both companies share the same values and vision.
“Technology is a fundamental element of digital marketing and close collaboration with the senior management team at SYZYGY will enable us to jointly develop better technical solutions for our clients,” he explained.
The acquisition remains subject to approval from the competition authorities.
