PerformanceIN is back for another bout of Movers & Shakers, covering happenings in the month of June, which saw a hoard of personnel shifts within the programmatic advertising space.

But first, to Southern Europe, where Michele Marzan, zanox country manager for Italy, has stepped down to be succeeded by Sheyla Biasini – a promotion from her former post as head of sales. Biasini joined zanox in 2008 as executive sales director for the retail and travel industries.

CJ Affiliate also announced a clutch of new additions to its publisher development and sales teams, while Jack Newman and Owen Hancock have both seen promotions from account director positions to directors of client development.

Programmatic postings

ZenithOptimedia France’s former chief data officer, Julien Braun, has assumed the same role at RadiumOne, heading up the programmatic platform’s product and data team as it expands through Europe.

Former Criteo COO and Challenger Deep founder Pascal Gauthier now sits among OpenX’s board of directors, bringing more than 15 years of digital media and advertising experience. Gauthier also serves on the board of video ad tech company teads.tv.

Having previously spent the last two years repositioning Adconion Media Group to the forefront of the programmatic and RTB space as managing director, Steve Brown swapped the title for a newly created one as chief revenue officer at content monetisation platform Rezonence. In a similar vein, Vibrant Media appointed Andy Smith as its very first head of programmatic for the UK, joining from Chango.  

And Rubicon Project has made a further investment into handhelds, having taken on Steve Wing as VP for mobile and marketplace. The former CBS Interactive EMEA VP’s remit will cover Rubicon’s automated guarantee and mobile offerings throughout international markets.

Euro hires

With the adoption of programmatic sweeping across Europe, MediaMath announced Ishaq Platero as sales director, Spain, following the company’s recent opening in Madrid, where he joins having served eight years at third-party ad server Sizmek.

APAC mobile data intelligence platform AdNear has signalled its ambitions for the EU, installing former TrustE MD Ken Parnham into its London headquarters as general manager of Europe.

French programmatic video leader StickyADS.tv is also strengthening its grip on the continent with the appointment of Greg Carroll to UK country manager, a promotion from his prior spot as head of publisher development UK.

Web analytics company Mezzo Labs has enlisted one of Denmark’s top web analysts to join its roster in London. Waqas Rafiq joins from TDC, the company behind some of Denmark’s largest telcos, and brings particular expertise in the Adobe Analytics platform, strengthening Mezzo Labs’ performance measurement capabilities.

Social shakeups & more

In the world of social, Brian Marin has joined intelligence software company Artesian Solutions as VP of services, stepping away from a role heading up StreamScience as CEO.

Another tech company with ties to social media, Brighton-headquartered Brandwatch opened its first location in the APAC region, appointing Christek Quek as VP commercial for South East Asia, based in Singapore. Previously at Twitter, Quek has been named one of Campaign Asia’s 20 Women to Watch.

Mobile marketing automation specialists Kahuna unveiled a new addition to its executive team. Julie Ginches joins as chief marketing officer with over 25 years of experience in enterprise, mobile, big data and marketing tech.

Agile marketing software business Kenshoo has onboarded a new vice president of marketing, with Steven Hartman joining the team to lead the group’s global marketing efforts and share more than 20 years of product and brand marketing experience. Prior to the new role, Hartman served in the same capacity for VigLink and held similar roles in Acxiom, Rubicon Project and Yahoo!.

And finally, a duo of hires for performance marketing agency House of Kaizen comes in the form of Carl Lawrence and Fahmi Mohammed to bolster its UK team in London, joining respectively as director of planning from account director at Omnicom, and media manager from display and analytics manager at digital marketing agency, Fused 7.
