Digital engagement company Brandmovers has launched into the thriving Latin American market, by opening an office in Mexico.

Founded by Andrew Mitchell in 2003, the business, which works with global brands such as Disney, Papa John’s, L’Oreal and NBC Universal, specialises in loyalty, promotions, social, SEO, mobile, and more.

With offices in the US, London and Mumbai, Brandmovers’ Mexico City office will now serve as its Latin American (LATAM) headquarters. The new office will also support and enhance its existing US clients expanding into the fast growing targeting LATAM markets.

Newly appointed managing director for Mexico, Jose Antonio Cano, said: “Mexico is the next great frontier for agencies specialising in digital engagement.

“According to IAB, internet advertising has been growing at almost 40% year-on-year in Mexico since 2009.

“Mexican-based brands are embracing more and more digital and social channels as they acknowledge the benefits and investment opportunity.”

Brandmovers said this has been validated by more than 1,000 hours of primary and secondary research completed by the company at the beginning of 2013.

From creating user-generated content campaigns and whipping up rewards programmes, to in-app banner ads, triggered SMS communications, social media strategies, mobile application development and search engine marketing, the company has a wide variety of digital strategies.

“We are now entering a new era of digital communications in LATAM where the conversation with clients is a real time two-way dialog,” Mitchell said.

“Brands and marketers need to adapt and engage with customers in multiple environments, such as websites, social networks and other digital channels, sometimes simultaneously, from numerous devices such as desktops/laptops, tablet, and smartphones.”

Atlanta-based Mitchell, who studied at Harvard Business School, also recently completed his doctoral studies in identifying and developing promotional technology that can be deployed and measured across various media channels, including social media.

He said Brandmovers’ clients benefiting from this expansion include Monterrey-based Gruma Corporation’s Mission Foods brand, Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Disney and MasterCard. The Mexico office will also provide the platform for servicing several new Mexico-based accounts that are now coming online.
