The voucher code industry shows no sign of slowing down as more companies announce they have jumped on the discount code sharing bandwagon.

A leading online news, sport and lifestyle portal in India has now launched into the digital coupon space, as has a longstanding UK comparison site.

The 2006-founded Oneindia.in, which features content in five different languages, has teamed up with CupoNation to offer more than 1,000 voucher codes and deals to users.

The Bangalore-headquartered business has created Coupons.oneindia.in, which features discount codes and deals for companies such as SporteGenie, Vistaprints, Domino’s and Hilton.

A spokesman from Oneindia.in said: “We Indians usually look out for discounts while buying any new product. It doesn’t matter if we are buying online or offline, we never let a good bargain pass.

“Typically, one would look for discount tags when shopping in brick and mortar shops and go to price comparison sites when buying online. Keeping this in mind, Oneindia has launched an online coupons and deals platform with a vision of giving more benefits to online shoppers – with an easy, safe and delightful coupons search experience.”

Comparison Site Cottons on to Voucher Popularity

Also this week independent comparison site moneyfacts.co.uk, which predominantly features a range of online financial-related deals for consumers, made the move into the voucher code market.

The Norwich-based company began as Money£acts back in 1988, when it was a six page financial fact sheet which brought the best financial products together in a way that allowed for comparison.

Since then the site, which is paid per click for some of its featured deals, has expanded to include a wide range of offers; from savings and ISAs to banking, credit cards, mortgages and utilities.

Its new voucher code and deal section features offers from the likes of Red Letter Days, Premier Inn, flythomascook.com, Swarovski and London fashion label tfnc.

One of the company’s finance gurus, Rachel Springall, said. “Due to the increasing popularity with voucher codes online, it’s now an area we’ve decided to introduce on Moneyfacts.co.uk to expand consumers’ money saving options.”

No Time for Trawling

Earlier this month Bath-based Myfavouritevouchercodes.co.uk, which launched in March 2012, rolled out its new mobile app.

Founder of My Favourite Voucher Codes, Julian House, said rather than trawling the database for codes, shoppers are now alerted to a potential saving by a browser app.

“We thought that consumers might be missing out on our exclusive deals because of the pressure to checkout quickly,” House said.

“So, to ensure that everyone can make savings, no matter how much time they have available, we developed a voucher code app to prevent them missing out.”

Shoppers simply surf the web as normal and when they are ready to make a purchase, they just click on the `MY` icon on the browser toolbar.

The browser app then automatically searches the internet for the latest voucher codes available for that merchant and will display any voucher code deals or offers that are available in a convenient drop down box.
