Forbidden Technologies, one of the fastest growing technology companies in Europe, has appointed Buyer to Brand agency Marketing Team Direct (MTD) to drive and increase sustainable, profitable growth and shareholder value through a comprehensive rebranding exercise. A key part of the initiative involved repositioning the brand’s professional video editing platform, Forscene. Forbidden specialises in developing and marketing powerful cloud-based video platforms. It sells these solutions into the professional video production market, where Forscene, its video post-production platform, is recognised as one of the world’s most advanced browser-based media making solutions. Working closely with the Executive Board, MTD undertook a comprehensive review and revision of the Forbidden Brand, updating the vision, mission, values, proposition, strategy and ID. The company’s Brand Architecture was also redefined with Forbidden brought to the fore as the Corporate Brand and Forscene sitting underneath as the professional ‘Product Brand’ (‘powered by’ Forbidden). The new brands were launched at NAB in Las Vegas in April 2014 and provided the business with a clear and differentiated proposition and a strong, flexible foundation with which to go to market globally. Results have been swift and significant with the business opening up key territories worldwide. Stephen Streater, CEO Forbidden Technologies said: “MTD impressed us with their wide knowledge of the technology and media sectors as well as an exceptional track record of differentiating business brands, go-to-market initiatives and core messaging. They made us challenge our former strategy and develop our brand in a much deeper direction. The repositioning exercise has been a major success in terms of enhancing our brand, positioning the company and its main product, and making space for new sub brands in completely new markets.” Andy Jordan, Managing Director at MTD commented: “Forbidden has an incredible offering for the market it sits in, which made them an extremely exciting client to be working with. I’m confident that the results we have already seen from the rebrand will continue to replicate and will impact their business and fulfill their goals and ambitions for a long time coming.”
