Previous performance marketing-related Co's you have worked at:
I have worked in various, mainly international, teams in different jobs and roles all over the world: in the US, UK, Slovakia, Poland.
The first time I came across affiliate marketing was in London during my internship eight years ago and I liked it from the beginning. Now, I have over five years of performance marketing experience working within the two UK leading affiliate networks: buy.at and Affiliate Window. I always worked within partnership teams. After a year I became a travel specialist; I looked after the whole sector managing travel related publishers, clients and the blogger community.
After over seven years spent in London, I have come back to Poland where I continue my passion for performance marketing. This time I work on the publisher side and manage voucher code website for the British market - Voucherful.co.uk.
What are your main job responsibilities?
In a nutshell, I look after Voucherful and manage the team of two. I work with other account managers from different countries, share experience and learn about new tactics. I run actions to promote Voucherful and gain more users. I develop and look after clients and network relations. I negotiate bespoke offers, exclusive codes, and special campaigns. I run marketing campaigns for clients.
Take us through what you get up to on a typical working Monday:
I start my work pretty early. I aim to get to the office before 8am to have time to go through my emails and industry related news. I like to look at what was happening over weekend, check the monthly plans and create the week’s priorities for my team. Once the office becomes crowded, I have weekly catch-ups with my team. We discuss what we need and want to achieve – by having a clear plan. Then we sit down to our tasks.
On Mondays I create weekly reports and usually after lunch we have meetings with account managers for each country. They tend to be very creative, loud, interesting and long. I love them! We have usually 15 people attending and I always learn something new about the foreign country. The time on Mondays usually goes very quickly. You may not believe it, but in Poland, some people can really finish work at 4pm! So I do manage to on some days!
What top three websites can you be found browsing during your lunch hour?
I love the BBC as this helps me stay tuned with the latest news in the UK. I check Yahoo UK portal for the latest gossip and interesting facts happening in Britain and worldwide. I like to have an eye on what is trending ‘now’ in the UK. l am also addicted to Feedly, where I am signed up to many industry related portals and some lifestyle and shopping related blogs.
What are your top three tips for someone looking to get their hands on a job like yours?
Well, they should have knowledge and experience in the UK market and affiliate marketing. They need to be flexible, quick and creative when looking after the website. They have to be business-focused and have negotiation and managing skills.
Career-wise, where do you see yourself in three year’s time?
I would love to stay within the performance marketing industry and also on the publisher side. I would like to learn more about the Polish market and work with Polish clients and networks. I also want to develop my experience in running PR campaigns for the UK and the Polish market.
Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
This is a difficult one. I am a very open and direct person – I perhaps share too many opinions. Sometimes I am too talkative, but not as much talkative as our Italian team! I guess the thing people don’t know about me would be the number of shoes, hats and matching handbags I own - have even lost track of how many I have myself.
