Zanox Completes Acquisition of Digital Window

Acquiring the remaining 49.9% of shares, news reaching PerformanceIN today announces the complete acquisition of UK and US network Affiliate Window’s parent company, Digital Window Ltd.

In a deal for the remaining shares reaching “double-digit million Euros”, zanox has armed the group with their largest regional market through today’s completed acquisition, which is closely followed by the German market.

The zanox Group, comprising zanox, Affiliate Window, M4N and eprofessional, supports more than 4,200 advertisers and is owned by German Axel Springer AG (52.5%) and Swiss outfit Publigroupe AG (47.5%).

PerformanceIN caught up exclusively with the zanox Group to briefly discuss the acquisition and what changes, if any are afoot.

Q: Why was the decision taken to acquire the remaining shares now, and what can you share about the cost of the acquisition?

A: The acquisition process started in 2009, but was always scheduled to end within a five year period. The purchase of the remaining 49.9% at a double-digit million EURO price for the shares means the process is now finalised.

Q: Are we likely to see the technology products and brand of Affiliate Window being implemented under the zanox brand as part of this complete acquisition?

A: Affiliate Window has established itself as a major and very successful part of the zanox Group. It is our clear intention to further strengthen the Affiliate Window brand and its position in the UK and US market. Therefore, there will be no changes related to the Affiliate Window brand and its technology.

Q: What does this mean for the leadership team currently in place at Digital Window following today’s complete acquisition, as well as the wider employees within the business?

A: Mark Walters, Adam Ross and Peter Loveday will continue their outstanding work for Affiliate Window and this deal will not affect the management team in any way. There will also be no changes or reduction in staff for Affiliate Window.

Q: How will this deal affect Affiliate Window clients?

A: Affiliate Window has a proven track record of offering top brands excellent service, growing mid-tier clients and entering the mobile commerce segment. Our intention is to allow that to continue to flourish. Therefore, there will be no changes in the relationship between Affiliate Window and its clients, many of whom already benefit from the global reach within the zanox Group.
