It seems like a lifetime since in-person events were taking place, and it can be hard to remember the top tips that will allow you to make the absolute best of them.

There are certain things that you can do to ensure that you have a fun, comfortable time at a conference, allowing you to digest the information you’re there for.

1. Stay hydrated and well-fed

Make sure you’re well-fed and watered. The team behind PI LIVE London work hard to make sure the event space, Old Billingsgate, is chockablock with refreshments to make sure you’re happy.

To reduce the show’s carbon footprint this year, the team has partnered with shopping commerce leader, Global Savings Group, who are sponsoring refillable water bottles in a bid to significantly reduce the amount of single-use plastic on site. Bottles can be refilled at dedicated refill stations and you are encouraged to bring your own bottle too.

Taboola, CJ and Optimise will also be on hand at their coffee stands to provide caffeinated beverages should you feel tired from the buzz of the day. There’s also an opportunity to get those much-needed vitamins too, with smoothies from Optimus Performance Marketing.

There are also various food trucks at the event, including a popcorn stand courtesy of Latest Free Stuff, meaning you’ll have sweet treats to snack on throughout the sessions.

If you fancy something a bit stronger, there is also the TikTok Terrace, the Impact Prosecco Lounge and the Webgains Smarter Connections Zone..

2. Pack smart

We’re thankfully back to in-person events, and can’t wait – but coronavirus precautions are still incredibly important, meaning sanitiser is an essential.

You will become a lot of people’s favourite person, including yourself, if you remember to bring along a charging pack or spare charger. Gum is also a good thing to think about, as well as pens and paper.

You’re going to be meeting a lot of new people, so if you have them, business cards are another important thing to remember to ensure you don’t forget any of the connections you made.

3. Review the agenda and pick sessions in advance

This year’s agenda is maybe the best yet, with incredible speakers from huge industry names such as TikTok, Klarna, Awin, Rakuten and many more holding sessions across the two days.

As an example of just one of the incredible sessions on this years agenda, Carolina Paradas, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Swapi, Nicole Wellman, Manager, Client Services at Rakuten Advertising and Rakhee Jogia, Managing Director International at Rakuten Advertising will be speaking on ‘A Blueprint for Success: How to Design a High-Performance Affiliate Marketing Programme’ on day one of the show.

It’s important to have a good look at the agenda beforehand to ensure you don’t miss anything. There is something for absolutely everyone at the conference, so make sure to timetable yourself smartly.

4. Stay connected

One of the things that makes the performance marketing industry so fantastic is the relationships. Our industry is full of incredible people, and the conference is a great chance to meet new people, as well as to connect with some more familiar faces.

If you are unable to attend in person, you can be part of the experience as we bring the ambiance of the show to your home or office with the event app.

The app will be your event buddy as it contains all the information you could possibly need, including floor plan, FAQs, agendas and more.

There is plenty of opportunity to network, and to show off that you were at the event, posting pictures and using the hashtag #PILIVELDN21 will enable people to find and connect with you even when the event is over.

This year all sessions will be live-streamed with questions being taken from the audience both in person and online.

5. Network, network, network

Meeting and negotiating with new or existing partners is one of the most important parts of any conference. So, the team is providing an array of unique networking opportunities at the show.
