Global media conference Social Media Week (SMW) returns to Bristol from June 10 to 14, introducing a curated stream of inspirational events, talks and seminars on emerging technologies, mobile, social media and other media channels that are shaping the digital marketing industry.

Held previously in 2016 and 2018, a 50-strong events programme attended by 2,000 delegates from over 80 different brands and businesses and visitors from around the world has previously included keynotes from Facebook, BuzzFeed, Twitter, Glassdoor and Yahoo to name a few.

As one of 25 cities worldwide to host SMW, Bristol is the only city in the UK outside of London to take part in the global phenomenon.

STORIES

For the 2019 edition of SMW, this year’s theme will be STORIES, exploring the roles of people in social media – content creators, journalists, marketers, and technologists – and the responsibility they have to be truthful and real in all forms of communication. The event will bring together industry players keen to contribute and facilitate collaboration with businesses and enterprises that have yet to fully realise the potential of social media.

The following sponsors have been confirmed for the week-long conference, including local networks Business West, Destination Bristol, Bristol Media, and Enterprise Nation. New sponsors also include UX design agency Nomensa, influencer marketing agency Fourth Floor as well as Access Creative College and Foot Anstey.

The event programme will be announced in April with tickets going on sale soon after.
