Starting with Exterion Media, Europe’s largest privately-owned out-of-home (OOH) company, has announced the appointment of Steve Hawker as UK marketing director. Playing a vital role in Exterion’s commercial growth plans, Hawker will be responsible for leading the company’s marketing strategy, managing a team of 20 across national and local marketing, research, PR and studio. Hawker brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as global marketing director at ADARA, where he helped align sales and grew the brand globally.
There has been a stream of new roles created of recent, with OpenX, the world’s leading independent advertising technology provider, naming Todd Parsons as chief product officer. The exciting position will allow the company to increase focus on innovation, and accelerate the development of programmatic solutions for publishers and brands in both existing and emerging categories.
Referral marketing company Soreto has expanded its team with two new additions – Ricki Jones as chief commercial officer – reuniting Jones and CEO Peter Rowe following the pair forming the start-up team at affilinet in 2015 and Salama Mohammed as account manager who has joined from Webgains.
Another role has been created over at Merkle Periscopix, with Adam Guilfoyle taking the lead as head of agency sales at the performance marketing agency. The promotion recognises his role in driving the company’s new business strategy and leading a number of successful pitches.
Innovative tech developer Monotote has also appointed Thom Bryan for the brand-new key role of chief revenue officer. Thom will lead the marketing and sales function of the international proposition, building a senior staff hub in London. With Monotote in an era of rapid growth, he is expecting to recruit six staff to support the strategic vision in the next six to 12 months.
Meanwhile, data-driven performance marketing agency Merkle welcomed Simon Rice for the newly created position of data protection officer for the EMEA region, tasked with ensuring the firm’s continuing compliance with GDPR.
Having been at the7stars since 2014, Helen Rose begins her new role as head of data, insight and analytics. Rose will be responsible for leading the7stars’ newly combined data and insight team, following the merger of the agency’s capabilities in these areas to form a unified, centralised resource.
International award-winning digital agency, SYZYGY has promoted Phil Stelter to chief media officer. Phil will be focused on international collaboration and development of the group’s media capabilities in addition to his continuing role as UK managing director.
In other news, performance marketing and data group Decision Tech recruited price comparison expert Nick White as B2C sales and marketing director to grow and develop the company’s portfolio of market-leading B2C websites.
Last but not least, Adjust has tapped Ashwiny Thapliyal to spearhead growth, manage operations and lead a regional team. The Berlin-based global mobile measurement leader announced it is expanding operations to India, with the opening of a new office in Mumbai.
