Dentsu Aegis Network continues its global landgrab with the latest acquisition of Indonesian performance marketing agency Valuklik.

Based in Jakarta, Valuklik is one of the largest performance marketing agencies in Indonesia with clients across various sectors including travel, telecoms, media, e-commerce and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG).

The latest acquisition will see the agency merge with digital performance company iProspect, set to rebrand as iProspect Valuklik.

“Indonesia, being the fourth most populous country in the world and the number one powerhouse economy of Southeast Asia, remains a priority for us going forward,” said Dick van Motman, CEO of the Dentsu Aegis Network in Southeast Asia.

“With excellent medium and long term growth prospects – particularly in digital advertising, we continue our journey there to be sufficiently scaled and substantially differentiated in this market.”

As the company merge finalises, Valuklik founders Cleosent Randing and Rahul Nambiar, will take on the roles of chairman and CEO of iProspect Valuklik respectively.

Meanwhile with the shareholders, East Ventures and John Marco Rasjid have exited investments, moving them into iProspect Valuklik which looks to capitalise on the growing Asia market over the next 12 months.

Global expansion

The new acquisition follows a number of recent mergers by the Dentsu Aegis Network this year, which includes the most recent purchase of leading Dutch performance marketing agency Oxyma Group, India’s digital agency SVG Media and Singapore’s content marketing agency Novus, in a bid to expand both the network and the Merkle agency in the Asia Pacific.
