Decision Tech, the performance marketing and data group, has acquired Mobilephonechecker.co.uk for an undisclosed sum in its latest move to strengthen its offering in the mobile phone comparison space. Mobilephonechecker’s mobile comparison engine helps customers compare over 1.2 million deals in seconds – helping them find their ideal handset deal.
Leveraging its robust cash generation, the deal represents the Decision Tech group’s third acquisition in the mobile space in under 12 months and also demonstrates its commitment to the mobile vertical.
Integrating Mobilephonechecker will progress Decision Tech towards its ambition of innovating the mobile comparison sector using a technology-led strategy that helped it become the UK’s largest Ofcom accredited broadband comparison brand, powering the offering of some of the biggest consumer comparison sites in the marketing.
Decision Tech is actively seeking further acquisitions to bolsters its portfolio of products and brands as part of the group’s growth and diversification plans. In December 2016, the acquisition of comparemymobile.com made Decision Tech the UK’s most-used price comparison service for phone and gadget recycling and sales.
Decision Tech’s CEO Michael Philips said, “We’re extremely excited about Decision Tech’s acquisition of Mobilephonechecker.co.uk. This has a very good product and digital footprint that will complement our existing technology and brands.
“Alongside the acquisition programme, innovation is key in the business growth strategy. Later this month, Decision Tech will be launching a SaaS [Software as a Service] product that will revolutionise how digital publishers optimise and increase their performance sales. This product will spearhead the New Ventures division of the Decision Tech group, ahead of further data products and tools pivoted from tools built to service their own brands and technology partners.
“2017 has already been a great year for Decision Tech and there’s more to come yet. This acquisition, coupled with our impending entrance into the affiliate reporting space, a market already worth over a billion pounds a year, signals more great times ahead.”
