We’ve already seen some significant announcements in July, but as we ease into the third quarter of 2017, PerformanceIN takes a final glance back to Q2 with a roundup of the key performance marketing job changes from June.

A number of key network announcements began with Rakuten Marketing US taking on new CTO and “ad tech pioneer” Neal Richter. A former CTO for Rubicon, Richter has been lauded for pioneering the OpenRTB standard and the new IAB Tech Lab Initiative.

Closely following the departure of its UK MD, affilinet’s senior marketing manager Sophie Parry-Billings has announced her departure to begin a “new venture” after nearly four years at the network.

TradeTracker’s French division announced a new managing director in Jason Keller; joining the network following a sabbatical, Keller has extensive experience in programmatic sales, having held roles at Crobo, ad2games and travel audience GmbH.

Awin’s Matt Swan assumed the title of global head of business intelligence, a formalisation of his role becoming an international one.

Former CJ Affiliate by Conversant employee, Rachelle Watson-Hill has joined performance marketing agency House of Kaizen in the position of business development manager, following just over a year spent as acquisition associate director at Starcom Mediavest Group.

Meanwhile, affiliate technology company Performance Horizon has seen the departure of former VP of marketing, Erik Mikisch, after two years in the role, before which he held the title of senior director of solutions marketing at Rocket Fuel.

Former VoucherCodes.co.uk general manager Claire Davenport has been appointed to the role of UK CEO for subscription recipe box company HelloFresh. Taking the post with immediate effect, Davenport replaces Ian Marsh who left for personal reasons and brings with her extensive e-commerce experience following over three years at VoucherCodes and senior roles at online games company Bigpoint and Skype.

Having built a career at TopCashback, starting out as partnership executive in August 2011, Charlie Hannibal has left the publisher as key partner manager, joining Booking.com in the role of account manager of strategic partnerships.

Following his exit from the MD seat at Savoo to return to his native country Australia, Simon Bird has adopted the role of chairman and investor for WeGift, a gift card retail tech company.

Programmatic, display & mobile

Just a month after his employer’s purchase by M&C Saatchi, Bohemia’s Sebastien Graham has left the agency after two years in the role of group performance and technology director joining Yahoo7 as head of programmatic services as Yahoo’s Verizon acquisition nears completion.

Intent marketing specialist iotec announced the appointment of Martin Brown as chief revenue officer. Brown’s career stems back to APAC and EMEA roles at Yahoo, senior roles at programmatic company DataXu, and in the past year, managing partner at a London-based ad tech consultancy.

33Across, a programmatic video and display specialist, promoted Yuri Burka from VP of publisher and media solutions to European MD while appointing former AOL executive Anita Pollert to the senior leadership team.

Media buying firm Publicis Media has appointed Chris Williams to the newly-created role of CEO for Publicis Media Exchange, overseeing an investment portfolio in excess of £1 billion a year. Williams joins from IPG’s media investment unit Magna where he was global president and has worked in senior roles for Publicis Groupe at VivaKi and Starcom Mediavest Group.

A big shakeup came for native ad tech platform Sharethrough, with president Patrick Keane and CRO parting ways as the company shifted its focus to its programmatic exchange. The company’s former VP of marketing and communications, Christopher Schreiber, also threw in the towel.

Mobile app and monetisation platform Smaato added 18-year ad tech veteran Glen Fishbeck to its ranks as CRO; Fishbeck has built the sales team at performance marketing agency Turn, and before that, served as GM of eBay Enterprise’s global display media business.

Sigvart Voss Eriksen is new CEO cross-device marketing tech group Tapad, having previously served as the company’s parent company Telenor as head of ad tech. He succeeds Are Traasdahl, who transitions to the role of chairman emeritus at Tapad.

Agency announcements

As Israeli performance marketing agency Matomy undergoes continued shakeups under new CEO Sagi Niri, senior VP of finance, Keren Krygier is promoted to CFO; senior VP of media Gil Klein is made MD of its Mobfox mobile ad platform; general counsel Ido Barash takes the extra role of VP of strategic development, and Yair Green is appointed as VP of engineering.

At the same time, CTO Ido Pollak has left Matomy in order to “pursue new opportunities”.

Andreas Pouros, a co-founder of digital agency Greenlight Digital, has taken the helm as CEO following the departure of Warren Cowan – who takes the position of executive chairman. Supporting him is Simon Newton, Greenlight’s newly-appointed CFO.

Search specialist Epiphany has taken on Kerry Flyans - a former Carat and Dentsu Aegis Network Australia executive – as director of strategic growth and partnerships, while former Amplifi and MediaCom employee, Gareth Rees, joins as director of planning.

In its ongoing drive to tackle the rising threats of online ad fraud and brand safety, the industry-owned independent body for UK online ad standards JICWEBS is becoming a full-time business. Having had full involvement since the beginning, Richard Foan is leaving media certification company ABC after 33 years to oversee JICWEBS as executive chairman.

At the same time, former Microsoft executive Susan Hansford joins as senior business development manager, responsible for supporting companies to sign up to the certification process for JICWEBS’ anti-fraud, brand safety and viewability initiatives.
