With less than a month to go before Christmas, it’s time for the final Movers & Shakers of the year. Here are the performance marketing job changes that caught our attention throughout November.
We kick off with affiliate attribution specialist Impact Radius, who on the back of a $30 million investment brought on a trio of strategic hires. Safiyya Riyadh marks the first, a former head of technical services for Affiliate Window, joining the team as head of onboarding and technical services for EMEA.
Meanwhile, James Bennie – most recently at affilinet having also held roles at Affiliate Window – joined as customer success director for EMEA, while former Thomson Reuters employee Clinton Liem is hired in the newly-created role of sales development associate manager.
In addition, the group’s expansion into Sydney sees Daniel Karlsson appointed as MD of the group’s Asia Pacific arm.
Agency-side
Marking CEO Rick Hirst’s first senior hire since joining in August, digital media agency Carat has taken on Alison Jones as chief client officer, having held senior marketing roles at a number of large retailers including Arcadia. Up until now, her most recent post was CMO & online director for Woolworths Australia.
Performance marketing agency Merkle put Charlie Weiss in charge of media and publisher solutions as the department’s general manager, having held the post of vice president of ad marketplaces at News Corp, working heavily in programmatic, as well as enjoying prior roles at Yahoo! and Dow Jones.
A former BBC exec and most recently director of digital arts and media at Nesta, Tim Plyming has been appointed at digital content agency Green Rock, assuming the title as its first ever director of content.
Leaving behind responsibilities as chief technical director and chief digital officer of Equestrian.com, Jas Sandhu joined digital commerce agency Astound Commerce as EMEA consulting director, and follows a number of new client wins for the group including Musto, Orlerbar Brown, Boohoo and Extra among others.
Ad tech additions
Rarely not making this bulletin, performance marketing company Criteo has named ad tech veteran Marc Grabowski as EVP of global supply and business development, leaving behind a CEO role at multi-channel marketing platform Persio, as well as former positions at Yahoo and Nanigans.
Performance data platform Ve Interactive brought on Stuart Chambers as non-executive chairman, having held executive roles at Shell, Mars, Pilkington/NSG, where he was CEO for seven years, as well as serving as a non-executive director on seven plc boards, including as chairman of Rexam plc and of ARM Holdings plc.
Analytics veteran Igor Elbert has been taken on by cross-device marketing company Tapad as vice president of data science. Elbert most recently handled predictive analytics and data mining at Gilt Group, and brings over two decades of software engineering and data science experience.
Mindshare UK, part of the WPP group, announced Jordan Shuttlewood as its new head of marketing. Her most recent title was director of marketing and communications at OMD EMEA, where she spent five years.
Mobile movers
Opera Mediaworks said goodbye to its director of ad operations for EMEA, Amber Littlejohn, who has instead joined predictive marketing company video intelligence as head of performance ad operations as it prepares for the launch of a performance offering.
In addition to that, vi has also appointed Olivier Law-Tho as international head of sales, Craig Smith as head of demand development and Will Black as director of performance sales.
Following the news that its CEO Ziv Elul was promoted to COO & CEO-designate of parent company RNTS Media, Tel Aviv-based Inneractive announced a clutch of promotions and hires.
Former Rocket Fuel exec Roni Anavi-Fass was named VP of product, current GM of North America Welby Chen was promoted to chief business officer, while Gal Aviv stepped up to VP of research and development.
Display types
Ex-Apple iAd CEO Paul Wright has made his first hire at intent marketing specialist iotec, onboarding Waimai Lo in the newly created position of VP client services & ad operations, having held the former position as iAd head of client services, EMEA & APAC.
A European leader in native programmatic, Quantum Advertising appointed a new helmsman with Mickaël Ferreira assuming the role as CEO. Having co-founded the business, Ferreira claims to be rolling out a strategy to double growth and plans to increase staff count by 50%.
Having opened its first office in Kuala Lumpur this year, Dutch coupon and deals platform Saleduck announced a new managing director for Asia; Sjoerd Copier was formerly online marketing manager for Sanoma, and replaces Saleduck CTO and co-founder Ben Rogmans Jr.
Programmatic ad platform PulsePoint has hired healthcare industry veteran, Chris Neuner, as SVP & GM of digital health solutions to lead the company’s new healthcare platform, Pulsepoint Health. Prior to PulsePoint, Neuner was on the executive team and served as chief revenue officer at QualityHealth, a health performance marketing company.
Finally, drinks giant Diageo – whose products include Smirnoff, Baileys, Guinness and Johnnie Walker – has brought in its own head of programmatic, in the form of Nestlé digital marketer Gawain Owen.
