Entries for the Performance Marketing Awards 2017 have now opened ahead of the 11th annual ceremony – the leading platform for exceptional results-based marketing.
The new site is host to details of how to enter, with new categories, entry procedures and judges (to be announced) bringing a fresh look to 2017.
These changes are a result of your feedback, which has been instrumental in guiding the gaze of the Awards into newly emerging areas of performance marketing, such as CPI campaigns, while reassuring the need for some of the longer-serving categories, like ‘Industry Choice’.
Below, we’ll run through all the updates you’ll need to be aware of when entering, as well as key information on deadlines.
The categories
Based on your input, we’ve added a selection of new categories which, including Most Creative Performance Marketing Campaign and Affiliate Marketing Innovation, seek to place the emphasis on creativity for driving the industry forward.
While mobile is central to almost all performance marketing efforts, we’ve also introduced the Best Mobile User Acquisition Campaign, which recognises smartly executed cost-per-install campaigns that drive measurable value and ROI post-install.
However, while new prizes have been added, we’ve trimmed back the total number of awards from 32 to 25, making the full list more relevant to today’s performance marketing members, and even more hotly-contested.
You can take a browse through the full list of categories here, and for those wanting to take your involvement beyond just entering, into category sponsorship, you can make your enquiry by emailing our sales team.
The process
There have been a few small tweaks in the way we process certain submissions, which again come as a result of feedback from our attendees and entrants.
This year all categories will have a specific entry form to use. Companies are still welcome to use their own template, but we request that the same structure is observed to make it easier for the judges to score.
These are supplied via your entry pack here and include a sample entry from a previous winner, as well as a link to each specific form, entry deadline, and prices.
Below we’ve included a brief summary of the main changes made to entry processes:
Industry Choice Awards
Networks, publishers, and advertisers will have to complete a standard entry form for the judges, who will then compile a shortlist. Voting on these will open on the same day as the shortlist is announced. This is still free to enter and you can pledge your submission from today.
Most Effective Agency / Best Performance Marketing Technology
Both of these awards will go through the same process as similar years but with an extra stage of voting alongside the Industry Choice Awards. This is to give the award more credibility in the sense of knowing that your agency/technology has the kind of recognition it deserves, whilst giving your clients the chance to shout about why you should win. A standard entry fee applies, and you can enter here.
Rising Star
Similar to years before, the nomination process will be open via a voting system. Those that are shortlisted will be asked to attend the Judging Day for a short interview and the opportunity to write for PerformanceIN before the shortlist is released on March 1, 2017, for voting, with the winner announced on the night. Nominate your rising star here.
The judges
The Performance Marketing Judging panel will be made up of seasoned digital experts, handpicked from some of the digital industry’s biggest players. The class of 2016 included representatives from Arcadia Group, BT, Microsoft, Google, Ve Interactive, and many more.
This team will be tasked with using their extensive knowledge of performance marketing to carefully scrutinise every single entry over the coming months, with the goal of producing a shortlist of candidates for each award category, to be announced on March 1, 2017.
We’re currently recruiting a whole new judging panel for next year’s ceremony, and with the help of a respected chair of judges, Squawka’s Leo Harrison.
If you would like to put yourself or a colleague forward for a role on our esteemed panel, please email PMA Events Manager, Kizzy McAuley. Find out what’s required here.
