IProspect’s former managing director, Matt Adams, has been appointed as Havas Media’s chief executive, tasked with leading the agency across its UK and Ireland offices.

Adams fills the position left by Paul Frampton, who now leads parent company Havas Media Group as UK & Ireland CEO, since February.

Havas Media UK’s managing director, Natasha Murray, has been leading the agency’s operations in an interim capacity.

As part of Frampton’s investment and succession plan, Adams will now lead the group’s senior management team, which includes Murray and David Goodall, head of Havas Media’s international team.

In his former position with Dentsu Aegis, Adams has been recognised for leading digital assignments for clients including Sky, American Express, British Airways, Hilton Hotels, Diageo, ASDA and ASOS.

‘Rare breed’

Adam’s career has spanned both the media owner and agency landscape, having held sales and commercial posts at Yahoo! Europe, Maiden Outdoor (JCDecaux) and IPC Media, before becoming global managing partner at WPP’s MEC and later iProspect.

“Matt’s hybrid background makes him a rare breed – client centric, internationally minded with digital in his DNA,” commented Frampton.

“He is an entrepreneur, commercial and has helped iProspect scale and grow fast so we are delighted to welcome him to join Havas Media and the senior leadership team of Havas Media Group UK & Ireland to help us grow faster.”

A spokesperson for iProspect said Adams had made “significant contribution” to the company during his tenure at a time of “considerable growth” across the agency, adding that a new senior leader will be announced imminently.

Adams currently sits as a director of the Content Marketing Association and the board of two global tech companies.
