A week in performance marketing news was kicked off with a grand unveiling of the companies competing for prizes at the industry’s annual awards ceremony.

With a full list of nominees for the Performance Marketing Awards: 2015 now available to view, heated discussions have began over who will take which prize when the event rolls into London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on April 28. 

In other news, our monthly round-up of appointments and departures provided a much-needed recap of the various personnel changes that unfolded in February. One that just slipped through the net was that of Tony Zito, who took the reins as CEO at Rakuten Marketing after a productive three-year stint at the group.

Elsewhere, Google announced changes to its search algorithm that would reward sites considered ‘mobile-friendly’ for browsers on smartphones and tablets. Publishers can now use Google’s free test for discovering as much, with rewards equating to a welcomed boost in rankings. 

Attribution was a hot topic this week as Affiliate Window rolled out a new cross-device tracking solution for advertisers wanting to delve deep into their conversion data, while Quantcast’s Amit Kotecha reviewed the challenges of monitoring touchpoints in his PI Column debut.  

Video ad insights were delivered by BrightRoll’s Andy Mitchell in his profile slot, with the duo of Tim Koschella and Kaya Taner giving our readers a sneak peak into fast-growing app marketing platform AppLift. 

On a slightly different note, we’d also like to thank Vince Vaughn and the cast of ‘Unfinished Business’ for delivering a fresh batch of stock photos to web publishers worldwide.

We figured the crew’s celebratory shot would cap off a great week at PI towers, hence the departure from our regular format.
