Silicon Valley-based Viralheat has announced plans to expand its social media analytics platform into Europe.

Viralheat intends to support its expansion by opening a UK office, a move which has seen John W Haynes appointed as the company’s UK marketing director. Haynes will be charged with spearheading Viralheat’s European strategy.

Last year Viralheat adjusted its core offering. Instead of tailoring its social media analytics platform for small businesses and consultants, the company decided to revamp its pricing and go after enterprises.

Heavy revenue growth

The business’ tactical shift paid off and Viralheat recently announced a record third quarter that saw it post in excess of 800% revenue growth since the launch of its enterprise product 12 months ago.

Since then Viralheat has appointed CEO Jeff Revoy, who oversaw the granting of patents in connection with its sentiment analysis and lead identification technologies. He is now joining the wider business in pushing for global growth.

“Our global customer footprint makes it increasingly important for us to offer local representation to our customers around the world,” he said.

“London’s growing reputation as the home to many companies that are driving successful social media programs makes the UK a perfect springboard into Europe and beyond.”
