London’s swanky Soho Hotel was the venue for Tradedoubler’s exclusive TravelConnect event and after party last week.
The European performance marketing network kicked off a knowledge-fuelled afternoon with a session on travellers and purchase paths, from the company’s Paris-based chief operating officer, Andrew Buckman.
Senior partner marketing manager of Hotels.com, Michael Long, and Tradedoubler’s international account manager, Ky Ismet, then launched into an interesting case study on the global online hotel booking business. The snazzy duo shared strategies, key insights and fascinating rebrand tactics with the audience.
Tradedoubler’s regional director, Dan Cohen, said the event was an amazing success and was well attended by clients, agencies and advertisers.
Content, API loving & Cashback
Commercial manager from leading fashionista site Sheerluxe, Jessica Royds, then shed light on the role of content sites for travel marketing – touching on the sites’ growing popularity and sprawling content genres.
‘Travel and technology, what’s next for the early adopters of performance?’ proved an engaging session, hosted by the comical and self-confessed ‘API-lover’, Jeff Johnston – Tradedoubler’s product director.
Executive director of travel and lifestyle at DubLi.com, Bicky Carlra, also gave a thought-provoking presentation on ‘introducing cashback to corporate travel’.
Twitter Tales & Networking
Following network director Andrew Copeland’s presentation on ‘back to the future: old-fashioned optimisation…cutting-edge techniques’, TravelConnect was wrapped up with an interesting tale from Declan Dineen – The man who met his Twitter followers.
The crowd of knowledge-thirsty performance marketers then headed over to the venue’s private bar to enjoy a spot of networking.
Guests enjoyed a variety of wines, beers and a mix of canapés at the central London venue.
“The presentations were very insightful and well delivered, giving everyone food for thought on the industry and the opportunities,” Cohen added.
“There were some great relationships made and renewed, especially in the evening and the feedback from people who attended has been amazing.”
