US affiliate tracking software platform LinkTrust has filed a patent for an exclusive email marketing technology.

The Utah-based company says its patent-pending technology; ‘LinkTrust Remote Traffic Agent (RTA)’, makes it easy to control the reputation of tracking domains.

It does this by utilising external servers for email and other marketing traffic – while still tracking all campaigns through a LinkTrust account.

LinkTrust president Bret Grow said by allowing users to ‘cloak’ their LinkTrust tracking domain and IP and choose the ISP they run their traffic through, this new feature minimises the chances of being permanently burned by malicious activity.

“While email marketing can easily be the most lucrative side of affiliate marketing, having all of your mailers sending traffic through a software-as-a-service domain and IP address is like putting all of your eggs in one basket,” Grow said.

Grow said the patent-pending technology makes it easier to randomise domains, mitigate risk, white-label traffic and control email deliverability.
