The Longtail Still Prevails at PerformanceIN Fashion

The very first PerformanceIN Fashion & Beauty event took place yesterday at the swanky Hurlingham Club, west London. The event supported by Platinum Sponsors, Webgains and was launched at the beginning of the year, by a4u, the organisers of a4uexpo Europe and the a4uAwards. The one day exclusive event offered specialists within the fashion vertical in Performance Marketing the opportunity to learn from a dedicated agenda, as well as network with other key advertisers, agencies, networks and publishers.

Our 12 Session Agenda

Comprising of twelve conference sessions, across two tracks, the event began with a keynote session by founder of Red or Dead fashion label, and the Vintage Good Wood festival Wayne Hemmingway.

Amongst much fascinating story telling, Wayne discussed the importance of ensuring a brand has a soul, and identifying why your target audience has a reason to love your brand, a theme that continued throughout the day. Additional key sessions the balance of brand and reputation outlining what rules are important when taking your brand online, and what advertisers should bare in mind when adopting performance marketing.

Ross Sleight of SOMO joined the agenda on how advertisers and publishers are using mobile platforms to engage with consumers. Ross identified the importance of embracing mobile as a completely different platform to the web.

PerformanceIN Fashion

The weather held out for the beautiful BBQ in the grounds of the Hurlingham club, which included a menu of bbq'd lobsters, chorizo and chicken kebabs, with a selection of fresh salads before an extra helping of raspberries and cream.

Fashion & Beauty Brand Showcase

The afternoon focused on the fantastic brand showcase including brands such as Alexon agency with Ann Harvey, Kaliko and Minuet Petite. Crabtree & Evelyn, Linkshare plus Sponsors FusePump and nonstop Consulting also showcased their brand within the Palm Court and Orangey. The dedicated two hour slot, allowed delegates to meet with advertisers, publishers and agencies, such as 7thingsmedia, La Boux, La Senza, Reiss, Urban Outfitters, StyleCompare, and many more.

Post lunch conference sessions were equally well received with, Urban Outfitters and OSOYOU presenting on the importance of engaging with the Longtail & Fashion bloggers, highlighting the impact of the personal touch when engaging with bloggers in the fashion vertical and recommending that advertisers treat bloggers as an extension of their brand.

Speed Networking

Speed Networking followed late afternoon with over forty publishers and advertisers meeting for a two minute time slot to make initial introductions before the bell rings Sponsored by Webgains the intense form of networking offered a great opportunity to network with advertisers and publishers focusing on the fashion and beauty vertical. The event came to close with a drinks reception supported by allowing delegates to build on initial contacts made throughout the day in the grounds of the hurlingham over a glass of Pimms or a beer.

All in all the very first PerformanceIN Fashion & Beauty event was a great success, with a lot of key learning’s and take away's from each session, as well numerous business cards being exchanged.
