Strong Increase for Downloaded Products during Xmas 2010

A network that's capable of reaching 75% of Europe's e-commerce customers, TradeDoubler have today released their Christmas 2010 sales figures.

Across the board, the total order value that was sold through TradeDoubler's network in Europe increased by 38% for December compared to 2009, covering over 11 million transactions and reaching out to 380 million unique visitors. Of these transactions, Travel accounted for the highest sales, followed by shopping and retail.

It was interesting to note that downloadable products had strongly increased for the Christmas period, with over 2 million downloads being purchased within the UK market alone. Furthermore, Click to Call advertising has increased by 15% when compared to the same period in 2009 within the UK as users turn more towards their handsets to research and commit to a sale.

The top e-commerce day for TradeDoubler in the UK was the 7th December.

Christmas e-shopping intensity varied a lot throughout the countries. In Spain, as well as in the Nordic countries the crescendo was reached by December 13th while Italians waited the longest, and peaked in sales on December 20th. On Christmas Day, December 25th, the activity was at its lowest point throughout Europe.
