Job description:

Outbrain is seeking a London based Senior Account Manager to join our quickly growing team.

More specifically, the Senior Account Manager will be regarded as a leader within the AM team – responsible for owning a book of business for brands out of the big six agencies both commercially and operationally. This not a sales role.

  • Responsible for managing all client activity for their book of business within the Outbrain platform from campaign start to finish.
  • Responsible for all reporting and analytical requests from their clients – providing reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for the performance and results of their client’s campaigns on the Outbrain platform.
  • Owns the communication and relationship for the day-to-day and key contacts within their book of business.
  • Owns all planning and strategic conversations with their book of business, running quarterly planning meetings and business reviews with key clients.
  • A strategic partner to the Agency Account team, offering support in the form of competitor and category knowledge within the digital landscape.
  • Works closely with the Agency Sales Manager to leverage Key Account contacts to unlock New Business budgets elsewhere in agency

We are looking for a person who is energetic, imaginative, committed and accountable, who proactively introduces themselves to our team with a hands-on mentality and demonstrates initiative.

Your first year should look like this:

  • In your first month, you’ll meet your team and work closely with the Team Lead, Account Management to understand and build your key relationships inside and outside Outbrain. This first month will also see you complete necessary product training and get under the hood of our technology and tools. You’ll also begin to assist with the prep, launch and optimisation aspect of campaigns for the team’s clients.
  • After three months, you will know the ins-and-outs of Outbrain’s products, be able to setup, launch and optimise campaigns as well as have the ability to recommend strategies and best practices to clients based on their goals. You’ll be fully onboarded to your key accounts out of the big six agencies – getting the full background and history, the current state of play for each key account, and begin to take over ownership of such accounts.
  • After six months, you’ll have a clear understanding of all things Outbrain, the products we offer and how to best use them depending on clients’ goals and needs. You’ll also have the ability to manage your time efficiently and effectively, working across your own book of clients – demonstrating strong time management and organisational skills. You’ll be fully versed on your key accounts, and act as the owner of your book of business – in charge of managing the relationships with the clients, campaign strategies, as well as the full execution and management of such campaigns.
  • At the end of your first year, you will be an important part of Outbrain: as a valued colleague in our fast-growing team and as an expert in content and performance marketing. Your knowledge and expertise will help you support your team and customers in all aspects. You’ll be an integral part of the agency business in Northern Europe, working closely with Agency Sales and Industry Leads to continue strengthening and growing the big six agency partnerships through your key accounts.


Winning factors – we are looking for evidence of:

  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years account management experience in digital advertising.
  • Previous experience in a social/native/display ad platform, agency or affiliate network is a plus.
  • Previous experiencing managing campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Twitter, etc. is a plus.
  • Proven success working as part of a team and acting as a leader within a team.
  • You have an expert understanding of digital marketing key figures, reporting metrics, delivery and analysis.
  • Strong technical understanding of tracking & attribution platforms such as DCM, Omniture, Flashtalking, etc.
  • Strong understanding of the competitive digital landscape across Search, Social, Native and Display.
  • Commercially minded – able to upsell clients without support.
  • You bring a general enthusiasm and curiosity to your day to day in working with colleagues and clients alike.
  • Advanced skills in using Excel, ability to create pivot tables, use vlookup, etc. without support.
  • Advanced skills in using PowerPoint, ability to create well thought out account and campaign reviews with strong presenting skills.
  • You have experience working with clients for whom have a dedicated performance KPI.
  • Excellent analytical skills and an affinity for data and trends, showcasing an ability to translate large amounts of data into an easily understood story from start to finish.
  • Extremely well organized and can deal with stressful situations well.
  • Showcases an ability to manage expectations well with strong communication skills both in writing and verbally.
  • Works autonomously but lean in with the wider team and team lead on a regular basis.
  • General tendency to find the answers without support but won’t waste time in asking for help if needed.
  • Works very efficiently, and always strives for ways to find new ways to be efficient in their day to day tasks
