An Account Director plays a critical role in the Account Management team, providing key clients with expert knowledge of the affiliate channel and tailored, strategic growth plans, aligned to program KPIs. Account Directors are also expected to lead their own small teams, providing coaching to their team members and nurturing their development so they are able to provide top level service to clients and grow those programs to amazing levels. Additionally, an Account Director must be confident representing Webgains at wider industry events, including taking advantage of speaking opportunities. They should be adept in crafting business cases for actions that would lead to company growth for example championing new publisher opportunities. The International Account Director is expected to have  knowledge of the affiliate landscape of the UK and at least 1 other market ideally the US.

Key Role responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent service and relationship management to clients and publishers across assigned accounts
  • Oversee key clients, providing strategic support and escalation as well as advocating for clients on an external platform, carrying overall responsibility for commercial success, and maintaining a solution driven mindset
  • Manage 2-3 junior team members, one not based in the UK, and oversees their portfolio of clients
  • Develop, maintain and extend relationships across Webgains portfolio via QBRs, networking and event attendance
  • Develops strategic sales/client plans to achieve monthly targets within a given portfolio of clients and implements strategies for new markets/campaigns/product offerings.
  • Senior Account Management representative and an escalation point for portfolio of Webgains clients and considered to be an expert in at least one key territory where the clients run publisher channel
  • Acts as representative of the AM team for sales and product teams’ requests and where strategic expertise is required
  • Proactively supports Sales team during sales pitches, developing and presenting relevant case studies to prospective clients’ senior management teams
  • Negotiating bespoke opportunities on behalf of Webgains advertiser portfolio at a market level
  • Conducting off-platform recruitment in line with Webgains specifications, reviewing commercial propositions to support the Publisher Team and advocating for required technical adjustments
  • Responsible for developing and hosting vertical specific workshops aimed at educating Account Management team
  • Responsibility for the team members’ wellbeing, learning, development and performance
  • Working closely with the UK Publisher team and Global Publisher team to progress new US publisher opportunities including platform onboarding, and driving to activation

Will administer day-to-day processes including:

  • Carries overall responsibility for P&L and commercial success of a given portfolio and team of account managers
  • Identifies new client targets and client distribution for given portfolio
  • Develops and oversees growth strategy for an account management team and a portfolio of clients
  • Develops, implements and optimises publisher channel strategy for at least one client in at least one key territory
  • Sets a compelling vision for winning and how this can be achieved
  • Able to direct priorities and lead others to execute multiple growth initiatives on the squad portfolio level
  • Works on multiple and strategically linked promotional campaigns in the same territory simultaneously
  • Manages client interactions successfully to positive conclusions
  • Drives cross-collaborative projects within squads to deliver company goals
  • Guides strategic planning across nominated portfolio of clients including formulating sophisticated proposals and leading on negotiations
  • Identifies key high level business partnerships opportunities and works alongside with the sales team where required

ESSENTIAL requirements:

  • Digital Marketing Experience – Performance marketing expert with 5+ years in affiliate marketing or other digital channels
  • Considerable experience managing complex publisher channels with significant budgets (over £1.5m yearly)
  • Broad and deep knowledge of publisher eco-system in at least one Webgains key market (US/UK/EU)
  • Extensive experience managing publisher channel across multiple territories.
  • High level of communication and client relationship skills with an ability to converse with confidence at all levels, from coaching junior staff to liaising with the most senior client representatives.
  • Highly developed mediation and negotiation skills
  • Can work autonomously to make sound data driven judgements.

DESIRABLE requirements:

  • Experience of the US affiliate landscape would be highly desirable, and can be client side, agency side, network side, or publisher side
