The role is responsible for developing new business, prospecting leads from events/trade shows in the EMEA region. While generating business for Director(s) of Sales, the role is also responsible for building a book of business (pipeline) for his/herself.

The Business Development Representative is responsible for the success of generating new business, mining through existing opportunities and contributing to the company’s annual revenue. The successful candidate will be passionate about selling the product, understand industry principles, have strong technical acumen as well as being personable, professional, reasonable, reliable, mature, and responsible.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for top-of-the-funnel customer acquisition by building a robust pipeline of qualified client leads, uncovering new businesses to go after, and building relationships with prospective customers 
  •  Identify potential prospects generated through targeted lists created by self-directed online research, email campaigns, and industry events
  • Proactively address incoming inquiries and leads generated through online advertising and marketing campaigns
  • Effectively pitch CAKE’s product and services to key decision makers, leveraging a consultative selling approach, via phone, web meetings, and industry events
  • Become a subject matter expert on industry trends that are relevant to targeted vertical markets, staying up-to-date with technology and news
  • Maintain a steady sales pipeline and report weekly to sales management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  •  Intermediate to advanced user level of Microsoft Suite, internet software(s), e-mail software(s)
  •  Uses the internet to source information about industry trends
  •  Ability to comprehend business models and have consultant tendencies
  •  Ability to write clear and concise, detail-oriented emails
  •  Ability to be a self-starter
  •  Must be able to work effectively with employees at all levels in an objective and professional manner when responding to questions
  •  Knowledgeable of software systems i.e. SalesForce
  •  Strong documentation skills, and ability to document all work 
  •  Must have great people skills, and the ability to work inter-departmentally on a daily basis 

Education/ Experience

Bachelor’s Degree preferred – will consider experience in lieu of a degree or certifications.

At least 1-2 years successfully cold calling and selling – preferably enterprise sales or B2B sales.
