Affilinet has today (July 6) announced the return of former MyVoucherCodes.co.uk chief operating officer, Peter Rowe, to the position of managing director UK.

Starting immediately, Rowe takes the reigns from Alwin Viereck – a member of the network’s international management board – who has managed the UK team in the interim following the departure of former MD Helen Southgate in May.

According to group CEO Christian Würst, since Rowe’s departure in 2011 the company has “tripled” UK revenue and grown the team to a headcount of nearly 30, and is excited for the former MD to return to the position and “continue managing the UK success story”.

Since his original stint as the group’s UK MD, after which the role was taken over by Gary Bicker (now Archant), Rowe has held a number of senior management positions. That includes COO at customer service technology company A Spokesman Said most recently, as well as managing director at Purus Digital, and the same title at Money Gap Group.

Before that, he transitioned from affilinet to spend one and a half years at Markco Media’s MyVoucherCodes.co.uk.

In past interviews with PerformanceIN, and in a similar ilk to his predecessor, Rowe has made his passion for industry advancement through regulation clear, praising the IAB UK for its work in “making the industry more professional” and quashing the idea the industry is one in which to “make a fast buck”.

Rowe has also admired the growth of the affiliate industry from “bedroom to boardroom”, which he owed to increased media focus and extra budgets allocated to the channel thanks to members of the industry “pushing boundaries”.
