The first quarter saw numerous performance marketing professionals take up new challenges, and last month proved no different. Today, we’re bringing you the industry’s key job changes in this March edition of Movers & Shakers.

In the most recent of the various additions to its redesigned c-suite, the IAB UK snapped up James Chandler for the new chief marketing officer role. Other changes include the body’s former chief strategy officer, Tim Elkington, moving to the chief digital officer role and Alex Kozloff, previously director of marketing and industry engagement, taking the position of chief operating officer.

Meanwhile, Criteo chose industry veteran Greg Archibald for its vice president of sales as the company aims to boost revenue generation in the Americas. Archibald’s diverse experiences include roles at NinthDecimal, Datalogix, Yahoo and Intuit, as well as a decade spent serving as a US navy pilot.

Affiliate hires

Affiliate marketing network Webgains saw Ami Spencer joining its team as director of international publisher relations. Former head of client services at Vouchercloud, Spencer will explore new approaches to publisher relations.

Meanwhile, Affilinet said goodbye to its former senior affiliate development manager Daisy-Blue Tinne who left the company to take up the head of affiliate partnerships role at Culture Trip. Tinne previously worked as UK account manager at Vouchercloud.

Advertising picks

Among lay-offs, high-level managers’ departures and revenue losses, Rubicon Project is welcoming a new CEO, Michael Barrett. Formerly chief executive of Millennial Media, Barrett will take over from founder Frank Addante to head the company’s leadership while Addante will focus on his role as the company’s chairman.

As Adyoulike expands into the US, its current UK managing director and chief revenue officer Francis Turner will move to the company’s New York office as the US general manager & CRO. Turner’s UK MD role will be filled by Adyoulike’s chief digital officer Dale Lovell who previously oversaw publishing and operations.

Another company looking to expand its regional footprint is AppNexus, having picked Kaylie Smith as its new head of Australia and managing director, APAC. Smith is taking over from Dave Osborn who transitioned to the US-based role of vice president, global accounts.

Ad tech outfit IPONWEB shook things up with Jana Jakovljevic joining as vice president of business development for North America to help bolster the company’s growth in the region. Jakovljevic brings experience as Spotify’s first head of programmatic, as well as roles at Rubicon Project and MySpace.

Finally, advertising agency Havas Chicago hired Paul Hirsch as the executive creative director, moving from his role as a co-founder and creative direction at Division of Labor.

Destination display

Following several senior appointments to the region, programmatic company MediaMath appointed Yun Yip as its country manager for Australia and New Zeland. As the company continues to invest and grow its team in the region, the former co-managing director at 1st Screen, Yip brings in a wealth of marketing, digital and ad tech experience.

Programmatic media and tech platform Xaxis announced Bob Walczak to take over as its executive vice president of global products. Walczak previously served as global CEO of Light Reaction.

Meanwhile, former head of agencies UK at Ve Interactive, Gareth Neville, has been hired as UK head of programmatic at Connexity.

Video marketing company Eyeview hooked former TiVo SVP Brian Katz to guide the company’s Fortune 500 clients to help optimise video across screens as vice president of advanced TV insights and strategy.

In an internal hire, Nick Morris, former product director at Tradedoubler, will now act as the chief strategy officer for the digital marketing company.

Agency updates

In the recent high-visibility hire, performance marketing agency Merkle on-boarded Coleen Kuehn as the new chief media officer. Previously listed as one of Advertising Age’s “Women to Watch,” Kuehn will overlook Merkle’s media portfolio.

Announcing big leadership changes, Mindshare UK, part of WPP, awarded Joanna Lyall with a promotion from chief planning officer to the newly-created role of UK managing director while Richard Kelly, head of exchange, has joined the leadership team. Changes also affected the company’s programmatic team with its head of programmatic, Adam Ray, being promoted to the newly-created role of global head of programmatic. His previous role is taken over by consultant Liz Salway.  

Highlighting its strategic focus on Asia Pacific, Forward3D appointed Richard Brosgill as the head of its APAC team to drive a newly-opened office in Hong Kong and oversee activity in the region.

Another company with a regional focus, Adaptly picked Rob Kabrovski for the new role of vice president of accounts EMEA. Moving on from iProspect, Kabrovski will lead Adaptly’s client strategy team and spearhead new business opportunities across key verticals in the EMEA region.

Moves in mobile

In a bid to proactively develop the market in France and support local customers, Mediasmart mobile hired Aniss Laamouri as sales technology manager and François Peltiez as sales and marketing manager. Both hires will enrich the newly opened Paris office with significant mobile advertising experience.

Cross-device marketing solutions platform Tapad took on Preethy Vaidyanathan as the new senior vice president of product management. Vaidyanathan will lead product strategy and development across all Tapad business lines, including media and data in the company’s New York headquarters.
