Movers and Shakers returns, reeling out the job changes that caught our eye throughout May. Did you make the list?

Euro hires

Global e-commerce provider Astound Commerce appointed Pete Youell as technical director for Europe. Bringing over a decade of technical implementation and e-commerce software development, Youell most recently played a key part in Oracle’s commerce consultancy team.

Shez Iqbal was snapped up by Parisian skin-based display advertising company Sublime Skinz, taking the role of head of publishers. Prior to the appointment, Iqbal held senior positions at Outbrain, LiveIntent and Talkbe.

There was news of French ad tech startup ADventori’s launch in the UK, which will be headed up by Will Bishop as UK country manager, bringing extensive experience from MSN, AOL and Factory Media, and most recently as the head of the sales team at Specific Media.

A former Yahoo commercial director for EMEA markets, Csaba Szabo is photography portal Shutterstock’s newly-appointed VP of enterprise sales for Europe, tasked with managing the media and corporate divisions across Europe and driving growth of the business across the region.

New wave

The San Francisco-based CrossInstall, which specialises in creating playable mobile ads, took on a new duo with former Chartboost executive Anuj Kucheria joining as vice president of business development. Hussein Zayan joins as director of account management, having held titles at Liftoff and AdRoll.

With a resume including the likes of Google and Yahoo, Shashi Seth has found his new calling as chief product officer for location-based marketing specialist xAd. Seth’s hire is the latest for a group doubling its workforce in 2015, with further hires including former-Googler Panos Zampetakis as regional sales VP, and former-Twitterer Ori Carmel as VP of sales and marketing.

Still in the realms of geo-marketing, location data tech company Blis announced the appointment of Bill Demas, former president and CEO of independent programmatic platform Turn, to chairman of the board.

Ad tech

Another ad tech addition comes at the door of Adform, an independent and open full stack platform serving media agencies, trading desks, brands and publishers. Rick Jones is the new general manager of the outfit, having formerly played the role of head of business development for Google DoubleClick.

Programmatic marketing platform provider Rocket Fuel has named former CEO of Nektan Plc, David Gosen, as SVP and managing director of international, charged with overseeing all of the group’s business and operational activities across the International division.

Performance marketing agency Merkle collared Neil Gissler as executive vice president of global technology. Gissler had worked as senior VP of services for Unisys, and previous to that served 28 years at consulting and managed service company Accenture.

Finally, the automotive lead gen website CarKeys.co.uk made an expansion to its senior team, appointing former general manager of Lease Plan, Chris Smith, to the head the company, while Sean Harris joins the team as commercial operations manager.
