The affiliate marketing tool Linkdex Publisher Discovery is now to be known simply as Publisher Discovery after its creator – SEO platform Linkdex – signed off on its separation from the core business.

Many of Europe’s affiliate networks, tech providers, advertisers and agencies use Publisher Discovery for finding and assessing the performance of different affiliate publishers.

The tool has garnered plenty of praise during its four-year lifespan, claiming a Best Use of Data prize at the 2013 Performance Marketing Awards among other accolades.

However, a decision has been made to have the tool run off its own steam after what Linkdex describes as “phenomenal growth” for the company’s search business, both in Europe and the US.

A statement from the company shared with PerformanceIN outlines that with its focus now “firmly” on the SEO side of things, there was good reason to have each product and team focus on their respective disciplines.

Global focus

Publisher Discovery has emerged as a useful tool for affiliate account managers, providing insight on publishers linking to affiliate programmes across the world and opening the door for competitor analysis.

In its next phase, the technology will be led by two of the current team in Chris Tradgett and Daniel Amarquaye out of its base in the UK. There are goals for developing the platform and strengthening its position worldwide, as Tradgett informs PerformanceIN.

“We have been building the Publisher Discovery platform to be a unique resource in its scope and depth of information for affiliate managers. We support the users of the platform, such as CJ, Equifax, Adidas and AM Navigator, by providing in-depth analysis reports specifically designed to make affiliate outreach and recruitment more effective.

“For 2016, Daniel and I are very much focused on strengthening the Publisher Discovery offering and widening the user base globally.”

Clients have been assured of business as usual under the new name.

Moving forward

Linkdex itself has been gaining plenty of momentum since its formation in 2009, growing its staff count to over 30 with an office in New York adding to a main base in London.

Features of the company’s platform for agencies and advertisers include backlink analysis, SEO forecasting as well as other options for content benchmarking.

Commenting on the news regarding Publisher Discovery, Linkdex CEO Mark Smith said: “I’m thrilled to see the two major custodians of Publisher Discovery, Chris and Dan, continue with this service.

“Linkdex will continue to power the platform and our existing clients while giving the new Publisher Discovery set up a fantastic opportunity to expand into the affiliate marketplace.”
