As April turns into May, we’ve a few job updates we’d like to extend your way – it’s Movers and Shakers.

News that German performance marketing network zanox installed a new managing director of Nordics started the month; Tim Lomborg took the post in Stockholm having spent five years as head of key account management for the network’s travel clients.

Agency add-ons

On the agency-side, DigitasLBi appointed Joanne Zaiac as COO of its North American operations, having been the group’s New York president since 2005. In her place with the title managing director for New York is Laurent Ezekiel.

AKQA’s Amanda Morrissey became Publicis Media’s new UK CEO. She will be overseeing the group’s media agencies: Starcom, Zenith and Mediavest, Spark and Optimedia, and Blue 449. The latter’s Phil Georgiadis has been elevated to chair Publicis Media, where he’ll act as strategic advisor to Morrissey.

Additionally, Nicole Prüsse, who was previously CEO of Central, Northern & Eastern Europe for ZenithOptimedia, will become Publicis Media’s chief operating officer for EMEA.

Publicis’s leadership shakeup continued in the Middle East, with former SMG co-CEO Steve Parker appointed CEO for the region, while Alex Saber has been made chairman for Publicis Media, Middle East, having served in the same role for SMG and Vivaki in the MENA region.

Carat UK announced a new CEO; Rick Hirst transferred from the same role at Denstu Aegis creative communications agency mcgarrybowen, and will continue to report to Tracy De Groose, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network UK and Ireland.

Ad tech all stars

In the rapid world of ad tech, AppNexus hired AJ Kintner, formerly of DoubleVerify, as vice president of sales for Americas, for its Advertiser Technology Group, tasked with re-introducing the group’s demand-side platform.

The appointment came on the heels of former Microsoft executive Owen Sagness’s move to the same role in Europe, indicating an aggressive sales push in the buy-side market.

RadiumOne announced a trio of new executives to lead the company’s sales and marketing initiatives, with Ann Piper joining as vice president of west sales, Brad Walsh as vice president of east sales and Rekha Ravindra as vice president of marketing.

Mobile movements

There was no shortage of chopping and changing on the mobile side as mobile native specialist glispa took on a number of new members for its senior team.

Dora Lakatos made a return to the Berlin-based company as vice president of global business development, having previously led glispa’s performance network, operations and publisher management as VP of network distribution before a stint at crobo.

Glispa additionally took on Selina Priestman as head of talent acquisition, having most recently established Market Tech’s senior executive team from market-leading businesses around the world. Additionally, Daniel Song joined associate director of business development, having worked in a similar capacity for mobile ad tech company Tapjoy.

Brand mobile advertising leader Widespace announced the entrance of Paul Carolan into the role of chief commercial officer having taken the post as UK commercial director in 2015. He takes over from Toni Kaski, who is moving into a new role as senior advisor with a responsibility to develop the group’s business across new and existing markets.

Marketing platform Opera Mediaworks announced Keith Winter as its chief operating officer with over 30 years in operational experience leadership, having previously held COO and president titles in companies including BuyMedia.com, Electronic Arts and Exponential/Tribal Fusion.

Displayers

The former CTO of ShopKeep, an iPad-based point of sale solution, Jason Ordway joined performance marketing specialist HookLogic in the same role, bringing extensive knowledge of e-commerce technology.

Native advertising platform Nativo has taken on Eugene Cherny as vice president of product. In his prior role as product head at Google, Cherny managed its TrueView In-display product; a native ad unit running within YouTube and the Google Display network.

Smartology – a contextual digital advertising company – appointed Brian Fitzpatrick as a non-executive board director. Having worked as head of EMEA at programmatic video advertising specialist Adap.tv, Fitzpatrick is also an investor in Smartology.

Finally, Omnicom promoted Mark Halliday to managing director of Accuen, the company’s programmatic agency division for APAC. Halliday has formerly served as head of AirwaveOmnicom’s mobile division – and his new post replaces Jonathan Mackenzie.
