Europe’s leading digital publisher, Axel Springer SE, uses Tealium’s customer data platform to optimise data management Tealium, the leader in enterprise tag management and real-time customer data solutions, today announced a new cooperation with Berlin-based Axel Springer SE, Europe’s leading digital publisher.

Leveraging Tealium’s leading customer data platform, Axel Springer is positioned to create a consistent view across the company’s highly diverse portfolio of websites to enable real-time digital optimisation. Axel Springer’s worldwide digital audience is nearly 200 million users and benefits from the continuous dynamic development of its digital activities, which contribute more than 60 percent to the total revenues and more than 70 percent to the EBITDA.

To monetise its own data and overcome service disparity, Axel Springer wants to set up a streamlined digital data management solution and create an easily accessible view across all platforms. This ensures that the different units utilise relevant data and enables them to personalise services and provide tailored solutions in real-time across the group. Tealium’s foundational tag management system, Tealium iQTM, is currently being implemented to achieve this goal, reducing complexity and increasing efficiency and consistency across the entire portfolio.

Axel Springer will also make use of real-time audience segmentation and action engine Tealium AudienceStreamTM to achieve a higher level of digital optimisation using its own first-party data. Germany is a key market for Tealium, and the company’s presence there is growing quickly. The company’s commitment to market expansion has been recognised by the award of Data Protection Officer (TÜV) certification – a key requirement for doing business with many German companies – to Tealium’s Senior Business Consultant. This certification in data security significantly enhances Tealium’s strong credentials in this vital market.

“We are delighted to support such a high-profile publisher, and this partnership is an illustration of the business benefits we can bring to prominent media companies like Axel Springer,” commented Lindsay McEwan, General Manager EMEA, Tealium.

“The selection of Tealium’s customer data platform confirms our strong position within the German market and validates the maturity of our technology in using first-party data to deliver real-time digital optimisation.”
