Movers and Shakers: November 2014

In November’s Movers and Shakers, Swedish performance marketing company Tradedoubler announced a duo of staff shakeups with former chief data officer Jeff Johnston moving to the more senior role of vice president of product management. Meanwhile Chris Russell-Smith switched from sales director UK to group sales director.

Cxense appointed Ståle Bjørnstad to lead the Norwegian company’s increased focus on global sales as chief executive, moving up the ranks from his former position as executive vice president, now occupied by John T. Sviland.

Agency scouting

Looking to the playing field for fresh talent, R.O.EYE has taken on new team members from industry rivals. Jane Woodhead, previously account director at global media agency network Mindshare joins R.O.EYE in the same position. From MediaCom, key account manager Christina Georgopoulou takes the role of senior affiliate planner and buyer, while Calum Lewis moves into the post of client services director.

ZenithOptimedia announced the appointment of James Hudson as head of digital UK, and Pedro Mona as head of digital technology UK, further strengthening the agency’s digital capabilities following the appointment of Stefan Bardega as global chief digital officer earlier this year.

Zeeshan Mallick enters 7thingsmedia as digital director alongside Matthew Wilkinson as business director, who leaves the title head of creative solutions at JCDecaux behind him. And Mindshare are another man down as Karim Kanfoudi takes a role at MEC as performance display and social manager on contract.

Engaging talent

With ambitious plans to double its 50-strong team in the next year, social engagement platform EngageSciences announced a string of new senior management appointments. Dick Cahill joins the London office to take the title of COO. He was formerly VP and GM international at software management company Kronos.

The company has announced three new acquisitions for its UK selling team with the hiring of media technology expert Steve Collins as sales director, joining from software platform SOASTA. Kenneth Haugaard and Claudio Esposito-Aiardo join as EU sales director and sales director for services respectively, having both left posts at Google division Wildfire.

Also joining the London team is Imran Anjum, who takes up the role of senior lead generation manager, covering clients across EMEA. Imran previously worked as a business development specialist at email marketing company, Silverpop.

EngageSciences has also appointed a global head of recruitment, Simon Parker, and bolstered its New York office with a project director, senior web developer, a senior strategist and a customer success manager.

Programmatic picks

Media-buying platform MediaMath has snapped up two-year-old startup Rare Crowds, founded by Eric Picard - who joins MediaMath as VP of strategic partnerships. Co-founder and CTO Scott Tomlin will consult with MediaMath through the transfer of Rare Crowds' technology.

Leading TV ad tech firm wywy has taken on a pair of new recruits with Will Miller joining as account director from a contracted role at Neo@Ogilvy. Max Truman joins as account manager, leaving from the same role at media solutions company Arena.
