Six Trends Online Retailers can Expect this Holiday Season

Christmas shopping season began earlier than ever this year, and the average budget for 2014 holiday spending is $584, according to a new infographic by digital marketing agency Sq1.

This budget will be more or less an even split between online and offline according to the infographic, with 52% of purchases being made instore and the remaining amount spent via desktop (39%) and mobile (8%).

Whilst shipping prices continue to play the pivotal role in deterring online purchasing, digital shoppers are making their purchases three or more weeks ahead of Christmas, and those that aren’t purchasing digitally are researching- with 73% of product research being made online against 27% instore.
