Media Agency MEC has bolstered its senior management team with the additions of Simon Jones as campaign director, responsible for product innovation, campaign development and execution, and Jowita Blak as director, who will be charged with driving MEC’s integrated organic search strategy.

Maynard Malone has announced a triple batch of new appointments to its management team with the hiring of Dominic Moore, head of client services, Gavin Mackie as head of strategy, and Anwar Ishak, head of technology. Three other team members have also been added to the client services and digital delivery teams.

BWP Group has appointed Matt Tabb as managing director. He joins from Wax Communications where he held a similar role and will now be responsible for the day-to-day running of the agency and reports to Group CEO Richard Beasley.

The New Leaders of Data

One of the UK data world’s founding fathers, Mike Green, is advising the REaD Group board on potential business opportunities for development of the company portfolio, which is spearheaded by the Data Agency. Mike’s appointment follows the announcement that Jon Cano-Lopez, another figurehead and thought leader of the UK data establishment, has joined the organisation as CEO.

Enterprise data, analytics and software company Acxiom has strengthened its European foothold with the hiring of Ian James, former Starcom CDO EMEA and Dynamic Markets ex-european managing director. James brings to Acxiom a wealth of digital marketing experience, which will be vital to Acxiom’s success as the company increases focus on bringing together digital and offline data.

Real time ad specialist Infectious Media has appointed Dr Roy Rosemarin for the new role of head of analytics and data science. Reporting to the COO, Rosemarin will be responsible for the strategic development of advanced machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques to drive the efficiency of the company’s proprietary bidding technology.

‘Analytical mastermind’ Claire Thompson has joined customer insights and data analysis group Beyond Analysis as head of delivery. Joining the company from Barclays, Thompson brings decision science experience at strategic level, and thrives on using data to analyse and solve complex problems.

Display in the UK

Video advertising platform Videology is expanding its executive leadership team with the appointment of Rick Astley as managing director UK,  a position which is said to underscore the importance of the UK market to the company’s growth in the EMEA region.

Multi-screen advertising company Collected has prepared for international expansion with the promotion of Dominic Woolfe from client strategy to director of sales, UK, and the appointment of Simon Stone to the new role of commercial director international, to drive the company’s expansion into other territories.

Talent and Creativity

Digital advertising agency Sq1 has announced the hiring of Tucker Hassler as executive creative director. Hassler brings with him a broad knowledge of the creative department, having worked on various national, blue chip brands such as Samsung Global, American Airlines, Bank of America, DISH Network and Norwegian Cruise Line.

With a portfolio spanning companies such as  BBH, Red Bull and Amplify, Mark Pavitt also brings a wealth of experience to his new role of Creative Advisor at digital communications specialist The Blueprint.

Former director at GDM Digital, Tom Wright has assumed the same role at his own new digital marketing company Acquire.

And Finally..

One business that is hoping to build the largest over 50s community, High 50, announces the appointment of Andy Williams, former audience director at Yahoo!, as operations director.

WIlliams joins High50 hot on the heels of the company’s hiring of new editor-in-chief Stefano Hatfield, who was the former editor of London Live, and launch editor of the i and Metro New York.
