Berlin-based Crobo has announced the purchase of Hamburg company TrafficCaptain for an undisclosed sum.

With the addition of TrafficCaptain resources, Crobo is extending its global reach to Latin America and Asia, giving it a  much larger share of the games performance marketing industry outside of Germany.

Over 50 employees now make up Crobo’s team, which company CEO Matthias Lesch says will have an impact on the mobile and browser-based free-to-play games industry inside of Germany too.

“By acquiring TrafficCaptain, we can welcome an experienced and passionate team of international marketing experts into the crobo family.”

“We can also further strengthen our relationships and contact with the numerous game developers and publishers with the office in the games hub Hamburg.”

Fisher still responsible for Hamburg

Former TrafficCaptain chief operating officer, Sandra Fisher, will remain in charge of the Hamburg office and help integrate teams and processes with Crobo’s own.

After two years of funding by iVentureCapital, also from Hamburg, the investment firm’s CEO, Michael Reul, has decided to concentrate resources on new startups.

“iVentureCapital sees itself as a middle to long-term investor. In the last two years, TrafficCaptain has developed quite well as our first self-produced project in the games branch and we feel that it is now the perfect point in time to move on with new projects.
