For the first time in six years a select few will be given the rare opportunity to attend a leading performance marketing industry event – for free.

This year the organisers of the comprehensive and session-packed two day Performance Marketing Insights: London event, have announced the launch of a bursary scheme, with a few differences.

Instead of being part-paid, this year’s bursary offering, in partnership with the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) UK, will be entirely funded – giving successful applicants the opportunity to attend the educational flagship event at no cost.

Education is very much in the IAB’s remit, which is reflected in its reports, blogs and events. The organisation’s programmes consultant, Claire O’Brien, believes that digital advertising growth and education go hand in hand.

“Driving growth and increasing education in the Performance sector is extremely important to the IAB,” O’Brien revealed. “This Bursary scheme is a great way for industry newcomers and switchers to get to grips with how this vital industry works.”

Open to All

Another new feature for this year’s bursary is that the offer is now open to everyone, not just advertisers and publishers. Although now open to all demographics; incorporating agencies, advertisers, publishers, technology companies and networks, rules do stipulate that applicants must be new to the event, or new to the industry.

Budding bursary applicants need to complete an application form highlighting why they should be awarded the bursary, and the lucky few that are successful will be able to attend the October 29-30 event, held at Westminster Park Plaza.

Stringent Application Process

PerformanceIN managing director, Sarah Parsonage, said the application process will be even more stringent than last year. There will also be a limit on the number of people who can sign up to the scheme.

“In order to drive the performance marketing industry forward, we need to be able to educate and inform on this complex, thriving and innovative sector. The bursary scheme in association with the IAB will support to do exactly this, by offering this unique opportunity to attend at no cost,” Parsonage said.

“The bursary enables not only new publishers and advertisers etc to experience Performance Marketing Insights: London in full for the first time, but also allows established industry organisations who may not have attended in the past, to get involved .”

Parsonage said the intention of the bursary is to encourage upcoming talent into the event and support other industry businesses, by educating new members of their team.
