New York-based Media6Degrees (m6d) has bought mobile business EveryScreen Media (ESM) – for an undisclosed amount.

The advertising technology ‘pioneer that revolutionises marketing’ with its ProspectRank platform, has acquired the also New York-based ESM –  an early innovator in mobile media-buying and targeting that powers campaigns for the largest mobile advertising buyers.

The move provides m6d’s customers with bigger mobile advertising capabilities, further enhancing its ability to efficiently identify and engage audiences across all digital media channels at scale.

Chief executive officer (CEO) of m6d, Tom Phillips, said the purchase accelerates the company’s strategy to provide its customers with the most intelligent way to predictably drive brand results.

“Consumers are mobile and understanding their brand preferences outside the browser is critical to marketers,” Phillips said.

“For the past two years, m6d and ESM have partnered successfully to provide scalable audience and contextual solutions that help brands connect with consumers in any relevant environment. Now is the right time to combine massive data sets from both browsers and devices to establish multi-platform intelligence for directing marketing messages.

Since its inception, ESM has helped companies access their audiences on mobile devices at scale.

Bob Geiman, former CEO of ESM, joins the m6d team as senior advisor, along with ESM executives Josh Engroff, Tom O’Reilly and Lauren Moores; who will assume the roles of general manager of mobile, vice president (VP) of mobile technology and VP of analytics, respectively.

“With this team and technology, we are poised to deliver the next great wave of marketing innovation, one that combines the powerful insights we derive from web browsing with location-based and other data from mobile devices,” Phillips said.

By capturing a unique brand signal from existing customers, and scoring prospects based on their digital journeys through millions of websites, m6d offers a real-time advertising solution called ProspectRank, which delivers relevant audiences to marketers.
