Kiva has been revealed as PerformanceIN’s charity of the year for the news site and all of its events, including a4uexpo Europe, a4uexpo London, Performance Marketing Insights and the Performance Marketing Awards.

You may have already heard about Kiva through its partnership with the Performance Marketing Awards. PerformanceIN was so pleased with the endeavour that it will be the company’s exclusive charity until the next awards ceremony in 2014.

Performance marketing is an industry fuelled by entrepreneurialism and it’s this trait that Kiva is trying to grow in countries less fortunate. Donators can pick from a crowd of individual business pitches and invest in that person’s venture.

Nurturing Self-sufficiency

Unlike other charities that only really treat the symptoms of poverty, Kiva targets the cause. It equips business startups with the working capital they need to get off the ground and flourish into self-sufficiency.

PerformanceIN events and marketing manager, Bronwen Rolls, emphasised the parallels exhibited by the performance marketing industry that run alongside the charity’s beneficiaries.

“Working with Kiva allows all of us to give something to those at the very beginning of their entrepreneurial journey,” Rolls said. “None of us could be where we are today without a little investment in our ideas and our aspirations.”

“We hope that PerformanceIN’s supporting of Kiva throughout 2013 will allow as many people as possible to realise their dreams, and be given the chance to create something big from something small.”

All PerformanceIN asks is that you donate $25 to what is a really great cause. Simply register on the Kiva page, join the PerformanceIN team and you’ll be able to start giving through the company’s lender page.
