Branded3 is the subject of an acquisition by publishing and marketing services provider, St Ives. The deal, worth £10.3 million, will see the agency’s ownership relinquished by co-founders, Vin Chinnaraja and Patrick Altoft.

St Ives’ purchase of Branded3 is seen as a continuation of its strategy to create a complementary range of digital and marketing services. Together, the two companies are hoping to add value to their portfolio of existing and new clients.

Before its takeover, plans were already in place for the growth of Branded3. Now, with St Ives’ backing, director of search and co-owner of Branded3, Patrick Altoft, envisions expansion into international markets over the coming years.

“We can continue to grow both in the UK and internationally by being part of a larger group, whilst still retaining our own identity and culture as an independently managed specialist agency,” Altoft said.

Search is Sought-after

Interest in search is mounting and it’s being reflected in the recent trend where larger companies are investing in a ready-made knowledge base. Earlier this week paid search marketer, Net Media Planet, was snapped up by Incubeta.

Before search, various sub-businesses already existed under the St Ives banner. Specialisms in data marketing and management, field marketing, customer engagement, market research and retail consultancy will now likely be available to Branded3’s clients, according to chief operating officer, Vin Chinnaraja.

“We have achieved another major milestone in our growth plans and becoming part of a synergistic, forward-thinking group where there is huge potential for collaboration is a real boost for us,” Chinnaraja said.

Branded3 will continue operating as a standalone business led by the existing management team for the foreseeable future. No changes to the company’s structure or office locations have been announced.
