What are some developments that Tesco has seen this year that's put it ahead of its competitors?

The largest development on the program has been the creation of the Tesco Affiliate Hub.

The affiliate hub offers the focal point for a programme community and is the one stop shop for up-to-date program news, promotional details, tools ,vouchercodes ,help guides and training to support and assist publishers. To maintain great relationships with publishers, Tesco and Tradedoubler also invite affiliates to a number of events throughout the year including F&F clothing’s spring/summer press launch, with more to follow.

Product innovation over the past 12 months has added a new layer of Tesco services for affiliates to promote, especially focusing on delivery options for customers, leading to greater flexibility and choice. This includes Deliver Saver, a grocery delivery scheme that allows customers to book their home deliveries in bulk for greater savings and the roll out of click and collect in store for Tesco Grocery and Direct, where commission is awarded for purchases made online but picked up in store. Tesco Direct has also become a marketplace with over 140,000 Seller products available which is growing every day! The products range across the Direct categories, including Electrical and Home and are available to promote through the affiliate channel.

Tesco also now compares the price of our customers’ shopping against Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s automatically at the checkout in all our Extras, Superstores, Metros and at Tesco.com/grocery. Price Promise is market-leading – it’s the first at-checkout price comparison in the UK to cover big brands, own-label and fresh food. This is beneficial for our affiliates as Tesco.com is included within this.

What does this mean for their affiliates?

The Tesco program is consistently adapting to a changing marketplace. The change that Tesco and Tradedoubler have implemented in the past year has ensured the program meets the needs of affiliates by providing not only timely offer and promotional tools, but also a range of innovative products and services. Tesco also works and supports TradeDoubler’s Zoo Project, to assist new and innovative affiliates.

What resources/commission does Tesco offer it's affiliates?

The Tesco affiliate team will regularly meet with publishers to discuss and develop promotion plans in partnership with the publishers to ensure a joint approach. Innovation is encouraged and Tesco are pleased to support publishers in this. The affiliate hub provides our publishers with an easy access to a centralised source of information, offers and promotional tools including product feeds and creative.

Commissions are set at a competitive level and are reviewed regularly.

Are there any exciting developments coming up for Tesco?

For Tesco, trialling new concepts and inspiring new ideas, multi-platform and technologies (e.g. with mobile) is the focus this year, with a view to raise awareness around the range of offerings and in doing so aligning even more closely with our publishers to build upon long term partnerships.
