You featured as the Programme of the Week last year. What’s changed since then?
SSE has been very busy over the past 12 months, simplifying customer tariffs, introducing our Customer Service Guarantee and leading the way in renewable energy.* You can read more about each of these shake ups to the energy industry here. As always, the customer is at the heart of everything we do, and we believe that receiving the uSwitch award for Best Customer Service for the seventh year in a row^ speaks volumes.
In terms of the affiliate campaign, the key change over the past 12 months has been the implementation of our single landing page. We recognised that it was a bit confusing for affiliates to have two different URLs for energy products and home services products, so we created a one stop shop where affiliates can send all traffic.
The landing page, www.mysselocation.co.uk, takes the customer through a user-friendly process whereby they can select their region and be presented with a selection of simple energy tariffs and heating and wiring offers.
Feedback from affiliates on our new process has been wholly positive, and we continue to seek and take on board feedback from our partners as to other ways we can keep improving.
What does the future hold for SSE and its affiliate programme?
Current SSE affiliates will be aware that all energy applications track as single fuel and manual commission is added at the validation stage for dual fuel applications. In the interests of streamlining the campaign and improving processes for both affiliates and members of cashback sites, we’re implementing improved tracking that will see dual fuel applications recorded from the outset.
We’re also planning to implement affiliate tracking on our Smart Services product, in the coming weeks which will see a new dimension added to the campaign. The Smart Services team is on a mission to save customers money on their energy bills. Make an appointment and they’ll visit you at home to give you a personalised energy efficiency review, practical advice on saving money in the home and advice on our products and services. Affiliates will receive £5 for every confirmed Smart Services appointment, so watch this space for more information in the near future!
