Vodafone is the latest mobile phone network to join Weve’s mobile wallet. It means that Weve can now operate and trade across three significant customer bases as Vodafone joins original shareholders, O2 and EE.
Millions of opted-in users have been added to Weve with the signing of Vodafone. Brands have access to 15 million opted-in consumers, which is a quarter of the entire UK population. Weve expects the number to grow over the course of 2013.
Weve is a collaborative mobile wallet solution that was announced in late 2012. The aim is to provide a unified solution for all brands and gives them a route to mobile marketing, advertising, payment, transactions, loyalty programmes and coupons.
More features in development
Location-based messaging, app discovery messaging, targeted push sms and video messaging are all readily available through Weve. The company is said to have display advertising, wallet services focused on loyalty, vouchers, payments, and data analysis in the pipeline.
Mobile hasn’t always been a top choice for media agencies, which was proven in recent IAB research. However, Nancy Cruickshank, Launch CEO of Weve, spoke of the company’s desire to integrate mobile with other channels.
“We want to move the conversation and reframe the debate on mobile, not just a platform for one-off campaigns, but the launching point for the ground breaking, innovative and long term campaigns of the future,” she said.
