An error occured via a recent A4u Newsletter, referring to Andrew Buckman as the new CEO - please note this was incorrect, and was infact talking about the COO position. A4u apologises for this error.
Reporting directly into Tradedoubler CEO, Rob Wilson, Buckman will be responsible for leading the company's international team of regional directors, the international corporate client team and all client support functions.
Buckman will be bringing more than 15 years of pan-European experience in senior revenue-generation, product and management roles and joins Tradedoubler from online payments company Klarna.
Previous roles for Buckman included time as MD of Webloyalty France, as VP of Strategic Partnerships at retargeting company Criteo, and previously Yahoo! Search Marketing, where he oversaw the European deployment of advertiser platform, Panama.
Is Buckman's Technology Past the Real Gain for Tradedoubler?
In a recent article about Tradedoubler financials, CEO Rob Wilson spoke of the need to address the network's ability to go head-to-head with competitors who provide a "technology solution that allows advertisers to manage their own private network", noting that "[Tradedoubler] are in a unique position to take advantage of this market opportunity."
Whilst not the primary reason in the decision of Buckman's appointment, his knowledge of previous search, display and m-commerce technologies will likely provide additional gains for Tradedoubler.
By bringing Buckman into the equation at Tradedoubler, his knowledge of former online payment and e-store company Klarna could go some way to providing an additional preferred technology solution for both affiliate tracking conundrums for lethargic advertisers, plus the increasingly 'agile' state of shoppers in Europe.
"Welcoming Andrew to Tradedoubler completes our new senior management team. Andrew is a natural leader who not only sees the big picture, but has the operational focus and drive to help achieve it. His background in scaling fast-moving digital businesses, combined with his product marketing and sales experience and a keen commercial sense make him a very strong all-rounder who can help us achieve our ambitious goals," says Rob Wilson, President & CEO, Tradedoubler.
Andrew Buckman, Chief Operating Officer, Tradedoubler, says: "The performance marketing sector is still showing very strong growth and I am determined to help Tradedoubler develop its share of the market. Operational efficiency and customer focus will be key to this role and I am looking forward to working with the team to ensure that Tradedoubler competes effectively."
