Quisma has launched a new Turkish office. The performance marketing agency’s move into Istanbul means it has now taken up residence in ten countries across Europe. Oya Öneş Yaşayan has been appointed Managing Director of Quisma Turkey.
Yaşayan is to be given the responsibility of operational management at the subsidiary. She’ll also be tasked with cooperating with the various other European GroupM branches. Yaşayan comes from Universal McCann where she was managing partner.
Apart from McCann, the 39-year-old is well versed in the Turkish market. Yaşayan was a member of the IAB Turkey board where she chaired the Technical Committee and has also been on the IAB Europe Mobile Advertising Committee since 2010.
The new MD spoke of the need for speed when developing the Quisma brand in Turkey. “My strategy is to build a powerful team quickly and to convince customers and GroupM partner agencies of the benefits of performance marketing in general and QUISMA’s unique services in particular,” she said.
Turkey is well known to be nurturing a rapidly expanding online economy. It’s not too far behind Russia in terms of ascending e-commerce sales. Qype, now part of Yelp, targeted the country earlier this year because of its burgeoning mobile community.
CEO of Quisma, Ronald Paul, is well aware of Turkey’s digital prospects. He’s also set some big targets for the local agency in settling for nothing less than being a dominant force in Turkey in as little time as possible.
“Turkey is one of the fastest growing advertising markets and we have big ambitions to play a strong role in the region from the outset,” he said. “We aim to become number 1 in performance marketing in Turkey within a very short time.”
