AffiliateTraction today announces its integration with Webgains to enable publishers to drive sales directly from Social Media, and in turn allow advertiser clients to track sales via the channel without a tracking link.
The world’s largest affiliate management agency has appointed leading affiliate marketing network Webgains as its latest technology partner, and together are introducing a unique system of click-less tracking which will open up the full sales potential of possibly the largest untapped aggregator of engaged consumers.
Greg Shepard, President and CEO of AffiliateTraction, says: “Social is all about engaged consumers who willingly want to share their thoughts and ideas, plus deals and styles from their favourite brands. However, the very nature of it being all about ‘word of mouth’ proves a major tracking challenge for publishers looking to drive sales directly from the channel. Together with Webgains, we have developed a solution, Click-Less Tracking. Over the coming months both publishers and our retail advertisers will benefit from this insightful innovation.”
Currently, it is difficult to place tracking links through Social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn. Users are equally loath to pass on huge links, instead simply preferring to share discount codes for using on their favourite brands’ sites. Publishers sales cannot be tracked in these cases, and therefore they’ve had no choice but to concentrate on building huge social networks to drive customers to their site first in order to enable them to track a sale. The new click-less tracking technology will allow them to now monetise directly from the consumer in Social, meaning less sales abandonment and an incremental sales lift from real word of mouth marketing. It will equally provide advertisers with greater control over the distribution of their discount vouchers, allowing them to more easily track to specific campaigns.
Greg continues: “This is an exciting development for Social Affiliate Marketing and we’re delighted to be working with Webgains to bring this new technology to market through our Social Media partnership for our UK and US clients.”
Webgains CEO, Robert Glasgow, says: “We have been working with AffiliateTraction for some time now, and this new initiative is an ideal opportunity for us to strengthen the bonds between the two companies in all markets. Providing exciting new technology as a pragmatic solution to a particular problem is at the heart of Webgains’ proposition, and we look forward to our relationship going from strength to strength.”
