GroupM Interaction launches Quisma in UK

Performance marketing agency Quisma is to open offices in the UK. The company is being launched by GroupM Interaction, who envisage that the agency will sit parallel to GroupM’s digitally targetted advertising arm Xaxis.

The news follows the recent trend of global agencies setting up shop in this country, with ZenithOptimedia also announcing the creation of Performics UK. Nick Theakstone, UK CEO of GroupM, told us why his company is following suit: “The performance sector is growing rapidly, and it is vital that GroupM has an offering with the size and scale to effectively serve that growth. Quisma has all of these things and more, giving GroupM a very effective string to its bow.”

The UK branch will be run by managing director Ellie Edwards, who was previously the managing director of advertising network, Hi-Media. Her extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of digital advertising will be brought to bear on some of the company’s 500 plus international clients.

Edwards also references the boom in performance marketing as the reason behind the launch. “With the Performance Marketing sector in the UK growing as quickly as it is,” she explains, “clients are crying out for an agency that can offer every element of digital advertising on one platform and drive true ROI. Quisma is this offering.”

Quisma has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a small search engine marketing agency in 2001, when its Munich offices held just 30 people. In 2007 it was acquired by advertising behemoth, Group M, that is responsible for 32% of the world’s media billings. Now Quisma is an international agency with more than 150 full time equivalents plus offices in Amsterdam, Warsaw, Madrid, Paris, Milan and more.
