Can you give us a brief overview about Blurb, for those who haven't heard?

Blurb is a company that believes passionately in the joy of books – reading them, making them, sharing them, and selling them. Our print on demand publishing platform is simple and smart enough, to allow every photographer, designer, blogger, cook, parent, traveller, poet, pet owner, marketer – everyone – to make a book. It enables users to create their own high quality books from a range of photo sources and customise their book using our bookmaking tools, either online or via free downloadable software. The range of tools has been created to suit needs from simple photo books, through to those who want greater creative control over their book. Blurb is also the only publisher that lets users create a photo book from Instagram or Facebook with just one click.

Our website is now available in English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese and last year we shipped almost 2 million books to 70 countries. What’s truly unique about Blurb is that customers have more than 500 ways to customise their book, our books go up to 440 pages (most of our competitors only go up to 160 pages) and that customers can create an ebook of their book for just £1.49. Books are delivered in 7-10 business days and our excellent customer service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What is the current set up for your Affiliate Programme?

We launched our Affiliate Programme in early January and our introductory offer is valid until 29 February. Currently our affiliates get a revenue share of 12% and a £5 commission for each new customer. Because we believe that you can only truly experience and appreciate Blurb once you have made your own book, we offer new affiliates a voucher worth £30 to make their own book which they request by sending us an email.

What are your best converting products, and what tips would you give to Affiliates looking to promote these?

Our products are highly customisable and depending on the website and their audience, our affiliates can focus on the type of books that will make their audience convert - from a book about their recent travels to a cookbook with their favourite recipes and from a beautiful wedding book to a book with Facebook snapshots.

Promoting seasonal content in books works really well, as customers like to make books of special moments in their lives. We also have books made by creative professionals - be it portfolio books, brand books and client books. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our programme and we would be more than happy to hear from affiliates if they have a special request or would like to know more about Blurb.

What demographic of affiliates are you looking to join your programme?

So far we've got a number of voucher websites, incentive websites and blogs. We're looking to add websites about photography, weddings, travelling, cooking, children, family, writing, small businesses and more! Our programme is very suitable for bloggers, they could review a book they've made or just show off some of their books. We'd love to get in touch with anyone who wants to blog about Blurb.

Do you currently work with voucher / incentive websites?

Yes, we do work with voucher and incentive websites however we have a selection process and a different commission structure in place for new applications from voucher / incentive websites.

Anything else our readers should know?

Besides our programme in the UK with Affiliate Window, we have recently launched our programme in France and Germany with Zanox under the same conditions.
